I did this last year. My eyes are healthy but years of short focus computer work have taken their toll and iron sights/pistol sights were a problem.

The optometrist was excited by the project; need to focus on the target and foresight. We had great fun measuring up distances in his office and he really wanted pistols/rifles there too!

Anyway, we got a prescription together that had perfect focus at my arms length (pistol and rifle foresight) and at 25m (long distance pistol target).

Picked up my glasses on the Friday, shot in a pistol National Comp on Sunday - came first. Backed it up with a rifle victory.

Funny thing this vision thing.
