I carried and hunted for 40plus years with a Weatherby Vanguard in 7Remg, I passed it down to my son. If I had to pick ONE gun, my hunting gun today, Ive to stay with Pre64 Model 70 in 300WinMag, that I received from my second Dad, at his passing. Has never failed me on the CRP GRASSFIELD. However, my favorite gun is my Cooper 21MTV in 17Rem. Shotgun hunting as long as it a BROWNING A%, Belgium made.

for hunting I allready have only ‘1’ rifle, it’s combined 7×65 R / 20 gauge rifle+shotgun.
you don’t need nothing more than that.

I would pick the M1A
It being a 308 it’s great for
Hunting and self defense.
My second choice would be a shotgun

I have a good friend who builds custom bolt rifles. He is finishing up a switch barrel 300/375 H&H set on an early 1950’s commercial FN true Magnum Mauser action.

That will cover everything I want to shoot, including the Dangerous Five in Africa.
