This comparable wind drift table is somewhat misleading. It appears to suggest that 100 yard rimfire targets are comparable to 230 yard targets with the specified 308. When drift is considered in MOA the 100 yard rimfire targets would simulate 308 targets fired from farther than even the 440 yard maximum listed.

First of all I should admit that I am too old and get around too poorly to seriously consider these kinds of matches, BUT if they had been around 40 years ago, I would have probably been very interested in participating. That being said, like many others, I enjoy reading about the sport. One of its inherent problems is the lack of suitable places to hold matches and practice, and it seems to me that putting on .22 rimfire versions is a very smart way of getting around that problem, and even if there is not a facility issue, getting in some realistic inexpensive practice. Thanks for putting this item in the bulletin. It seems to be well aligned with the interests of many shooters of the current generation.

South Texas has these type of .22 matches monthly, out to 100 yards yards, so far. Rifles must shoot fast to meet the short, timed 10 shot and 20 shot stage limits, so a 40-X for example, isn't really viable. These matches can be just as entertaining and competitive as long range matches. The equipment is rising to that level, too.
