Very thankful that the sun set on the 10 year long Clinton-era “nationwide” 10 round limit on new magazines. Sure, you could pay dearly to buy and own old ones, and California has now gone further by taking that ownership option away. Our longterm gun rights may ultimately cleave more along urban/rural lines than republican/democrat. I’m not aware of any smaller cities or towns, let alone rural counties, with bans, for example. California’s ban is concerning because historically the state’s mandates have migrated east. California practically dictates how all cars made anywhere, will run.

20 years ago the 10 round limit made small caliber firearms less attractive options relative to say, a .45 1911. So perhaps Californians can at least spur the market for 10 round handguns stuffed with huge, powerful cartridges.
