I believe it’s as simple as joining an online club that is authorized by the CMP website at a cost of about $25 then then makes you a eligible member also military or police retirees and active-duty are allowed to bypass. The membership I believe check out the CMP website http://www.thecmp.org

Manufacturers of other pistols will not be happy at this, and probably consider it unfair competition.
I would agree with a limited sale every year as long as backgrounds are checked. However 10,000 a year is too small a figure.

I would like to fined out how to be a member. And possibly get one of these 1911’s. Can i become a member and do we have close shooting ranges??
