I have a Rem700 chambered in 17 Fireball, and the best it will do is 3/4″ on a good day. The factory made a mess of the throat when they chambered it, and I’ve considered taking to someone to clean it up . . .

Just to be deliberately annoying (especially for anyone standing nearby observing)? I mean, it’s a heavy rifle shooting a very light (nearly nil) recoiling load to begin with. There’s cool, and then there’s trying too hard.

Man, that’s an understatement. I’ve shot more prairie dogs with an HMR than any of my centerfire rifles. Anything inside of 200 yards is a chip shot. 283 yards is my longest kill so far.
