Having shot Valdada , S&B , and NF at "F" distances , I found the Golden Eagle to be comparable to any of the Big-buck scopes . The parallax adjustment is extremely sensitive , and that works me just fine . As far as comparing "optics", personally , I think that's as subjective as picking a muscle car from the 70's...There were Hemi Cuda's , and the rest of the second place losers . See what I mean ? Totally subjective .

A couple of us use this scope at weekly 200, 300 and 400yd groundhog shoots. The only knocks I can give this scope is it could be a little more generous with eye relief for me and the parallax adjustment is so sensitive that it makes getting it set right difficult, especially when the mirage is running hard. The Leupold 45X Comp that I use on my other rifle requires what seems like twice the parallax turn distance and because of that is easier to dial in. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if it was parallax that gave you that shift James. But than getting this kind of clarity and magnification at this price makes the Vortex a real bargain.
