Apparently ; there were many people shooting at a un-supervised public shooting area on BLM land on Saturday or Sunday , and a “stray” round was fired over the berm area , and struck a woman in the chest area .The down-range distance she was at was not given , but only referred to as , “quite a distance”, by media reports . She was transported to a Phoenix area hospital , and died from her injury a day later . Police are working to identify the person or persons responsible . And BLM is considering closing the area , and other public shooting areas throughout Arizona .

More fodder for the gun grabbers , because of a lapse of judgment , competency ,or just plain negligence .But the greatest loser is this young woman’s family and loved ones . And I’m sure the repercussions will be felt by those who use BLM public shooting areas in the future . It could have been avoided .

What happens beyond the target we never know about.That is why hunters especially have to take in the distance way beyond their scope distance.
Two mile shots from a .338 are very possible.
