The Mark V is a personal favorite of actions, but I’ve always understood that Weatherby, proper, contracts out all it’s manufacturing. Curious about what the activities conducted at this new production headquarters will be, and what plans Weatherby has to become larger. I hope that “growth” doesn’t imply going down market. How about more “heavy” , accuracy-oriented Mark V’s. There is only so much four legged game left, but immersing the shooting interest of young customers in matches instead of Smokey the bear is good for those in manufacturing, and the wild!

It makes sense for a firearms company to move out of CA, the same way it makes sense for a software or scientific research company to move to CA.

Editor: Actually a number of major software and internet companies are focusing their expansion plans outside of California -- setting their new "Campuses" in Arizona and other more business-friendly states. The biggest issue is taxes, but also housing is so expensive in California that even successful software firms are having trouble attracting talent. $100k/year seems like good money, but not when a one-bedroom apartment in San Francisco costs $3500/mo to rent.

Unfortunately ; I don't think the powers that be care ...Their objective is a "gun free", socialist police state of Commie-fornia .

Now ; If we could just get RCBS and others to follow . Plenty of space , buildings and skilled labor in Az. And a better tax base , plus the fabulous pro-gun attitude .
