Softness in the rifle case heads leading to loose pockets is my only complaint these days. I have not experienced splitting necks or inconsistent weights or sizes in years. As noted, Lapua sets a high bar. Other makers seem to police our pressure levels on purpose. Soft case heads remind me of crumple zones and indented frame rails designed into cars. I get it, don’t overload. And keep buying more. Sig/Lapua/harder-case head-makers, there’s not a lot of choices in the short action magnum categories if you’re reading.
