I’m waiting for 6×47 brass with a large primer.

I made my own from 6XC brass and the velocity in the winter time was far more consistant than the Lapua small primer brass in cold temperatures.

Hot summer temps may be another story but in cold weather the large primer in my testing was the clear favorite.

Even in the summer I found the large primer brass gave the most consistent velocities so I stuck with it all year.

I’m sure there are guys out there who will dispute this but thats how it rolled in my testing.

The 6.5 Creedmoor evolved when the Hornady and Creedmoor groups stayed next to each other at Camp Perry. The 6XC was out and Dennis Demille showed it to Dave Emory.
The reason the 6mm Creedmoor is such a late bloomer is that it is all but a direct copy the Norma 6XC.
Kinda like someone who copied of your paper in school..

Every body is so caught up in the 6.5 creedmore that they have never heard of the real 6.5 it blows the creedmore away Remington arms made it in the mid 60s it is around 4200 fps and can kill a elk at 1000 yards with no problem. I know because I did it on several occasions. It is a 6.5 Remington mag .Now talk about the creedmore it isn’t in the 6.5mag class it is a play toy for people who are scared of real power

I do not understand offering something that can already be had elsewhere, without first bringing the 6×47 Lapua to the table.

While factory ammunition has never been prevalent for the Lapua round, it is without a doubt the better of the two in any neck diameter and has the records to prove it.

I will stick with the 6x47L . I don’t understand the uproar about the Creedmoor 6 or 6.5. Low recoil, is that really it? I shoot a 6.5/284 for a hunting round and don’t find the recoil objectionable.

The Creedmoor is more accurate than the x47 and xc. Makes sense.

This is a clear indiction that Creedmoor has won the marketing war and will become the 6.5 (and 6mm) wunderkind; based on sheer volume and therefore lower costs.

I suspect, in 5 years time, this site will be running the retrospective articles of “What ever happened to the 6.5 x 47 Lapua case?”.
