First time using the collet die for F/L sizing, the decapping rod came out of the die, trapped in the shell case. I had to cut the shell in half to remove. I did tighten the rod in the collet using two adjustable wrenches. Very leary to using this die again. Do you have a solution to correct this. Thank You.

to prevent marking or bumps left by the collet slots I use three passes. The first just yields the neck down but does not squeeze it tight. You can feel the neck give. Rotate a bit and squeeze to full pressure (don't need a lot). Rotate a bit more and squeeze to full pressure again. It is relatively quick and comes out straight and round as measured on the concentricity gage.
