Did David do anything to the Choate stock bedding? I think the way the recoil lug and the front of the chassis fit together might be a weak spot and wonder if he bedded it some way?

Seriously good shooting!

I'd take those barrels down & advise the police that until the law changes they aren't required. Compromises like that let them think they can do it. Well beyond their remit IMHO.

That’s very impressive shooting. Savage still deserves much credit for having entered the competition fray with solid, distribution chain rifles. They group well enough to isolate ALL the variables of the very addictive pursuit to minimize shot dispersion. Thanks also Savage for the secondary blind lugs that would help slow and deflect gas in a case rupture, - the single-most reassuring feature of several, when you let the most important people in your life start shooting. It’s not unnoticed.

These single shot rifles in several different calibers originally stoked my family’s interest in matches, and most of my local club’s interest, too, and so on I’ve seen. By extension, you could fairly say that Savage’s factory efforts starting in the 2000’s directly led to the additional support of many boutique makers, and a big part of the growth of F-Class.

Obviously they work in benchrest too. I might not have considered the stock swap chosen to be an advantage before reading this, but it sure performs.

“The blue plastic barrels that we have to shoot through are the idea of the local police — to ensure that we keep our rifles pointing at the targets!”

this is idea all around europe. some people are very afraid of target and benchrest shooters, more than terorists...
