My loading bench is an old steel desk that sits on the concrete floor in the garage. Not an ideal set up, but it is what I have. The steel desk is grounded.
I use an iron 'sink' that the power wires for my two electronic scales to help absorb any stray static electricity that may be induced into the wire. (A sink is just a piece of cast iron ring that the wire is wrapped around and thru the sink. It is small, about the size of a half dollar coin.)
All the lights in the garage have been changed to LED, and any time the furnace (which is also in the garage) turns on I stop loading until the furnace stops running.
This combination if changes has resulted in much less static electricity in my loading area.
I believe it has helpd my scores.
