Jose, it's not overrated. You're comparing it to magnum cartridges. If you'd like, I'd be happy to give you load data on our 260 Dingo, shooting a slew of 6.5mm bullets WELL into the 3000s, with most falling above 3700fps. Oh, and it's about a third less capacity than your listed magnums. It's a dedicated round. Short action, ability to shoot heavy 6.5mm bullets at decent velocities, and be magazine fed. You can't get all 3 of those from the cartridges you listed, let alone the 260 Remington which is the closest cartridge to the Creedmoor. I'm pushing Sierra's new 150 MK past 2900 with Superformance, and almost to 3000 with Reloder 19.

Jose nailed it.....The Creedmoor hype is almost laughable. My 6.5x55 Ruger and Tikka WILL do anything a Creedmoor can do. I don't need to hear short action shenanigans either. We've had .260 Rem for that. Bottom line is, if Creedmoor is the schiz, then why did Hornady need to release the 6.5 PRC? LOL!!!

Too bad they didn’t include VV powders in their manual. N160 is a great powder for 6.5 CM and it will also extend barrel life.

Ohhh. 130 grain @ 2900 at the muzzle. My 6.5x300 Weatherby Magnum is 2750 fps & 2300 ft lbs of energy at 500 yards. My old 264 win mag introduced in 1958, in a Remington Sendero is 400 ft/sec faster shooting .60 groups at 100. Creedmore is so overrated
