The RCBS brass boss is a variable speed unit controlled by a variable speed rheostat. There are two high speed stations that max out at 550 RPM and 4 that max at 350 RPM. They will run extremely slow by adjusting the rheostat hinting variable speed.

RCBS also released their Universal Case Prep Center about six years ago which utilizes the same variable speed rheostat to give the unit variable speeds.

RCBS had a variable speed machine at the Shot Show last year.

Editor: Read the footnote to our article. We explained that RCBS has a multi-speed case prep center, introduced last year. Four heads run at max 350 rpm, while two heads run at max 550 rpm. RCBS also previously had a Universal case prep center, which includes a trimmer. This has six stations available for case preparation, four turning at 360 RPM (max) and two turning faster at 550 RPM (max). The RPM is variable.
