I've had my Golden Eagle for about a year now . It is ; everything Mr. Mock says it is . Nothing more . Nothing less . Wish I had $8,000 for a March scope . I don't . But I could afford the Eagle . And I saw a whole bunch of those "birds" on the line at the SWN this year . Hmmmm...Maybe they are a decent scope without a $4,000+ price tag . Or maybe the Eagle brings more shooters into the Game ? That would be a reason not to like them . I love mine .

The "new" Vortex... new a few years ago, I believe. More recycled information.

How about something "new"?

I had this scope for several months, and generally liked it. I found that mine dimmed quite noticeably above 45X, so unless I was shooting a sunny day, the upper range was not be as helpful as it sounds. So, I sold mine and bought, for double the price, the March 8-80-X56. Great scope, was able to toss my spotting scope in the closet, and am quite happy with it. But, it came at a steep price.

The IOR Valdada BR 36 scope is probably the best scope of its type made. I have used one for F-Open for three years with superb results. Everyone who has looked through it comments on the superb clarity, even those who have March scopes.
