I was there that day and was one of the guys to look through it. I could see the bullet holes very distinctly . I’m not sure I was one of the younger guys or older. I’m 80 now.

In some conditions you cant see bullet holes even on 300y with rifle scope.

but spotting scope, if it is mounted on high tripod, it’s in many cases better than riflescope, which is near ground

Or … one can use the March 8-80X56 scope and use it for both the rifle scope and the spotting scope. March has thru-the-scope photos of targets at 1000 yards through this scope, and you can clearly see the bullet holes in the target.
