Bedding will stick to the stock material, although I would recommend testing it as is first. Also, there is nothing floppy or hollow sounding about these stocks. The whole design is sophisticated and well executed, down to the smallest detail. When I grabbed mine by the ends and tried to twist it, it felt about the same as if I had tried the same thing with a 3′ length of 2×4, very stiff, no twist.
