It comes from the FBI’s Uniform Crime Report. Over the last fifty plus years 47% to 55% of all homicides involved .22.

On the surface this seems impossible, but facts are stubborn things. When you consider that virtually everyone that owns any firearms almost always owns a .22 it begins to make sense.
