The law – “Effective January 1, 2018, ammunition transactions may only be conducted by licensed California Ammunition Vendors. (Pen. Code §§, 30312.)” Gun stores that already sold ammo were effectively grandfathered in.

So, buy your ammo from out of state (from those vendors that actually took the time to read the law and have not simply decided to do their part to cut Californians off at the knees) and get it shipped in, to a California Ammunition Vendors.

Personally, I use a SoCal company that charges $5 (five USD) for up to 1000 rounds in one transaction.
