Editor: There is no generally applied, third-party comparison-verified commercial index of burn rates. It simply doesn’t exist so you can’t fault Hodgdon. If you want more precise comparisons, you can buy Quickload software which does have relative burn rate index numbers based on data supplied by powder makers to the software authors. But we have found that those numbers are a starting point and still must be adjusted based on real world testing with your cartridge in your barrel(s)..
