I agree with John, and I am an American!!!

The only REAL World Shooting Championships are conducted once every 4 years as part of the Olympic quadrennial. A true International Shooting event is organized by the ISSF, International Shooting Sport Federation. They are the governing body the Olympic Shooting events in rifle, pistol and shotgun. Google is for yourself.

I guess any organization can label their event whatever they choose. Doesn't make it correct.

As far as Baseball, it's a North American Championship.
Really, world series, I don't think so.

Americans are a bit of humour alright! Calling a competition a world championship when you are the only team playing. In the middle of a world travel lockdown just makes it funnier. I realize it isn't meant to be funny, you're deadly serious, but the National psyche doesn't include self-awareness.
Along the same lines as the world series of baseball, when no-one elsewhere in the world plays the game!
