I rather have the event cancelled than it be virtual. Having been a exhibitor at SHOT for years, it’s that personal face-to-face, being able to see and touch the product that makes this event worthwhile. If they make this virtual, I will pay all the fees and not get the return in investment. And the biggest thing about SHOT is networking. That’s not going to happen virtually. Please cancel or have the event in person. Unless they are willing to let us keep our booths for 2022 but pass on 2021, cancel.

I really cannot understand why the promoters of one / all of these shows cannot take a more entrepreneurial route and hold a virtual convention. It is not at all difficult to offer virtual booths where manufacturers, importers and dealers could offer their products, talk about them, upload videos of conversations with journalists and the many popular Youtube, Full30 and other channels that discuss guns and hunting, and so on. In fact, this would be cheaper for exhibitors, could be free for visitors – the numbers would explode if visitors were allowed to attend for free, and the trade would be willing to participate at a time when political uncertainties over gun restrictions might be an issue well after the election dust settles. Talk about a lost opportunity, and worse, about one that is willingly being cast aside with the intention of losing it!
