This is something I wish more people would think about. The sound energy from a braked rifle can be devastating on your (and especially your neighbor’s) eardrums, regardless of whether they’re doubled up on plugs and muffs. Let’s hope the Hearing Protection Act gets some support… Failing that, adding a few inches to your barrel helps. Shooting prone over bare earth / grass also helps.
