Sec. 2. PURPOSE

Reading this short section makes me wonder if these people REALLY ARE this stupid. "...ensure individuals prohibited from gun possession are not able to obtain firearms."

There are an extremely limited number of actions that will "ensure" prohibited persons' inability to obtain a firearm. This most certainly is not one of them.

Requiring burglers to knock at a victim's front door and politely ask in writing for permission to steal and waiting a minimum of 10 days to proceed would very likely NOT ensure these criminals' inability to burglarize.

Why don't they just pass a bill that ensures ALL criminal acts be preceded with background checks and waiting periods. This would give NICS adequate time to determine if the crime will be authorized or not.

If there is ANY group that needs to be "deprogrammed," it's the subset of the population that believes in this sort of nonsense.
