My recollection of the tolerances on the drawings is that they are not down in the sub-micron range, so, if it were no big deal in the early 1960’s, what has changed?

I’ll check some more drawings, but, I’m pretty sure the location of those axis holes has not changed since the early 1960’s, if ever. Ditto the absolute and relative relationships of the engaging surfaces on the trigger, sear and hammer. See also springs.
