The Swift is a terrific old cartridge, very accurate. Finally jumped in and built a 220 Wilson Arrow from a Win. pre war model 70. Great Gawd, what a performer. Managed to shoot a five shot group at 100 yds. measuring .046.

I have two, a Ruger and a custom mauser.
Most fun is setting a box of those moon rockets on the bench next to a couple of AR shooters.

Great cartridge, it’s my go to gun for predator hunting. I been shooting the Swift for 25 years and would recommend it to anybody.

I’ve shot a 220 Wilson Arrow for the last 29 years, with the same barrel, (Hart) my round count is currently 9,950. Not a single shot was fired under 4K fps…

My current load produces 4,550 fps w/ 40 Vmax. I was able to get 3/8″ groups in the beginning and now things have opened up to 5/8″. Sam Wilson said he never saw an Arrow that wouldn’t go 5,000 rounds.

This wild cat is very easy to form and it really smashes gophers:)

I’ve hunted with an Improved Swift (the Rocket) at 4000fps with a 55 grain Barnes.

Fantastic results.
