Steve, a larger bullet can be, and obviously was, swaged in a smaller bore by the very high pressure of firing.

How can a 308 bullet chamber in a 223 barrel?

It shows how the .300 Blackout round will fit inside a .223 Rem Chamber. But then when fired the bullet will jam in the bore.

A person needs to think about what they are doing. It is a great round. If you are careless then it should be avoided.

I shoot 556 and 300/221 during the same session all the time. Look and feel your ammo and firearm.
