I’m at David back in 1987 at camp perry. We became good friends and we got together in 1989 to shoot together on Lone Star number one, are rndc formant team along with Mike gibson, Frank van cleave, and myself. We won the trophy four times between 1989 and 1994. We occasionally had other shooters shoot with us such as Pat mccann, Carl burnoski, and Mitchell maxbury. We were pretty much unbeatable at the time. We then got together and shot in the Chevrolet Teen Challenge on ESPN in 1991 and 1992. I learned a lot from him and we stayed in touch into the 2000s. I will miss him very much in my prayers are with the family.

I bought his book and learned a lot from it. I considered it to be my Bible for Service Rifle and High Power. I never met him, but I did meet many who knew him. They always said he was generous with his advice.

I bought a Tubb 2000 rifle many years ago and I met David many times over the years–he was a true gentleman. I was sorry to hear of his passing.

Very sad. He was larger than life. You just don’t think about a giant like that ever leaving. Prayers for his family.
