Walther RS3 Straight-Pull Bullpup Hunting Rifle

The new Walther RS3 hunting rifle is an innovative straight-pull, bolt-action rifle with bullpup-type stock. In the first video, TFBTV chats with Walther CEO Bernhard Knöbel about the new RS3 rifle, which blends traditional European hunting aesthetics with modern engineering. The premium RS3 features a handsome wood stock and deluxe refined finish. In the second video above, the respected All4Hunters channel examines the Walther CS3’s key features and what makes it stand out among high-end hunting rifles.

CZ TS 3 Orange Competition Pistol

The new CZ TS 3 Orange pistol was one of the more notable semi-auto pistols at the 2026 IWA Outdoor Classics. The CZ TS 3 ORANGE is the flagship model of the new CZ TS 3 competition series, developed for IPSC Optics and USPSA Limited Optics divisions. This new competition pistol has a great trigger, good balance, ported slide, and red-dot optic. This CZ factory video shows the new TS3 Orange being used in rapid-fire sessions.

Chiappa Rhino .44 Magnum Revolver

At IWA 2026 TFBTV checked out the Chiappa Rhino chambered in .44 Magnum, the latest large-frame addition to the Chiappa Rhino lineup. The Rhino’s low bore axis design fires from the bottom chamber of the cylinder. This reduces muzzle rise, making heavy calibers more controllable. This video examines the design, and explains how recoil impulse compares to traditional revolvers. Available in various finishes, this revolver can make high-energy cartridges more controllable.

Victrix Corvo CS Compact .50 BMG Rifle

This video features Victrix’s Corvo CS, a compact variant of their .50 BMG platform. Victrix designed the Corvo CS with an 18″ barrel and folding stock to create a more compact system while maintaining the capability of the .50 BMG cartridge. The Corvo CS features a stainless steel action and bolt, a 2-stage trigger, a folding stock, and multiple QD attachment points. The rifle includes a 45 MOA top rail, M-LOK interface, barricade stop, muzzle brake, and compatibility with Victrix monopod and bipod systems.

Orion Clip-On Thermal Optic for Riflescopes

This new Orion C series clip-on thermal sight can be a major upgrade for hunters who want to see more in low-light conditions. The Orion mounts directly to the front of a conventional scope, and transforms the capabilities, giving it thermal, night-vision viewing ability. This Orion unit activates in 3 seconds and the battery runs for four hours.

For the next four days, the Nuremberg metropolitan region will once again focus on hunting, target shooting, and the outdoor adventure market. In its 50th year, the IWA Outdoor Classics is a huge event, drawing over 1,080 exhibitors from 53 countries.

In 2024, the IWA Outdoor Classics celebrates its Golden Anniversary. For more than 50 years, outdoor and shooting industry companies have come together in Nuremberg to present the latest products and services for hunting and shooting sports. For 2024, Europe’s leading outdoor trade show will host more than 1,080 German and international exhibitors in nine exhibition halls. In addition, there will be a wide variety of seminars, meetings, and interactive demonstrations.

The IWA Outdoor Classics trade show, aka “Euro SHOT Show”, runs March 3-6 at the Nuremberg Exhibition Centre in Germany. IWA Outdoor Classics is Europe’s biggest combined trade show for the hunting, shooting, and civilian/military security industries. This year 918 exhibitors from a total of 54 countries will present their latest products and services in ten exhibit halls. We are pleased to see the IWA Outdoor Classics return in 2022 after the event was cancelled due to COVID in 2020 and 2021.

Three long years have passed since the last IWA Outdoor Classics in 2019. In years past this been a hugely popular event, attracting over 45,500 trade visitors from 115 countries.

European Market for Civilian Firearms is Thriving
While IWA show attendance may be lower this year, Europe’s civilian firearms industries are thriving, based on data from the European Institute of Hunting and Sporting Arms (IEACS). “Global production of civilian firearms has increased in recent years, as has European production, which recorded 3.6 million firearms produced in 2020, of which 2.7 million were pistols and 900,000 were shotguns and rifles. Compared to the previous year, this represents a 34% increase in European firearms production,” said Nicola Perrotti, IEACS president.

IWA Outdoor Classics 2021 Trade Show Is Cancelled
There will be no “Euro SHOT Show” next year. The directors of the IWA Outdoor Classics event, which attracts over 45,000 visitors annually, have cancelled the event, stating: “The current state of the COVID-19 pandemic and current travel restrictions of numerous companies on their employees have made it difficult for IWA to organize their annual trade fair event. For these reasons, IWA has made the difficult decision to cancel the IWA Outdoor Classics 2021 originally scheduled for March 2021.”

To allow all participants to plan with certainty, NürnbergMesse has taken the decision to cancel the IWA OutdoorClassics 2021 well ahead of time. Rising infection rates, various quarantine rules, and travel restrictions are simply making it impossible for exhibitors and visitors to make any firm plans. The next IWA Outdoor Classics trade show will take place in Nuremberg from 3–6 March 2022.

IWA OutdoorClassics 2022 Dates Are Set: March 3-6, 2022
Thankfully, the big trade show should return in March 2022, 15 months from now. The IWA Outdoor Classics 2022 will take place in Nuremberg from 3–6 March, 2022. The usual schedule has advanced forward by one day so that the Show will now run from Thursday to Sunday.

Online Virtual Show Format Planned for March 2021
The IWA team is currently working on an interim program for 2021. The kick-off event for the series of online and physical events and formats called “Road to IWA 2022” will take place on 12 March 2021, the first day of the planned IWA 2021. “We want to offer the sector the opportunity to stay in contact during these turbulent times. We are therefore working hard to develop concepts to allow us to bridge the gap until the next face-to-face gathering”, explained Rebecca Schönfelder, IWA Exhibition Director.

Institutional sponsors support decision
Klaus Gotzen, managing director of the JSM (German Firearms and Ammunition Manufacturers Association), says: “It is certainly true that the IWA is one of the most important occasions and industry gatherings in the year. But all of us need to prioritize our health. We very much regret the cancellation of the IWA because meeting our partners and members in person is so important to us. Nevertheless, we completely understand the decision by NürnbergMesse and are looking forward to the event in 2022.” The manufacturers’ association currently serves 42 companies.

Today is Super Sunday in Nuremberg. This is the third day of the annual IWA Outdoor Classics trade show, the biggest gun/hunting/outdoor trade show outside the USA. Yes, there were many AR-platform rifles on display at the IWA Outdoor Classics show.

A recent test of the Swarovski dS (see video below) proved this state-of-the-art “smart optic” delivers on its promise — no more dialing knobs. Swarovski’s $4500+ 5-25×52 dS features a built-in laser rangefinder and internal microprocessor.

Working with a smartphone App, the Swaro’s sophisticated ballistics computer calculates your trajectory at any distance and then displays an aim point on your reticle. It even adjusts the aim point for the wind (with data entered wirelessly via mobile device).

Here is a line-up of new Aimpoint rifle scopes. Aimpoint is much more than Red Dots these days…

Pride of Pedersoli. This display showcased handsome Pedersoli side-hammer (Sharps) and falling-block rifles from Italy. Note also the collection of Vernier-type Tang Sights.

Bling is the thing. This eye-catching Magnum Research Desert Eagle was at the IWA New Product Center.

There were also many vintage pistols on display. This is an original Borchardt Model 1893 semi-auto handgun, father of the famous 9mm Luger pistol.

The IWA Outdoor Classics started decades ago as a hunting exhibition, and it still retains that focus. Here is an impressive display of horns and hunting-related items.

IWA Outdoor Classics visitors could test their archery skills with both conventional bows and with crossbows at the Show’s Archery Center. This offered an interesting “hands-on” experience for many show-goers.

After SHOT Show in the USA, the IWA Outdoor Classics is the biggest gun/hunting/outdoor trade show in the world. The IWA event, held each spring in Nuremberg, Germany, opened today, March 8, 2019, in the Nürnberg Exhibition Centre. The show runs four days, concluding on March 11th. This is a big event — 1622 exhibitors from around the globe are showcasing their products. In 2018, 46,121 visitors from 121 countries attended the IWA Show. This year, attendance should be even greater.

You don’t see this every day. Exhibition-grade wood and an engraved Walther action on a competition .22 LR position rifle. This handsome rifle is certainly worthy of Olympic Gold.

German gun-maker Walther showcased the new Walther Q5 Match Steel-Frame pistol.

Major German rifle-makers Blaser, Mauser, and Sauer all had large, prominent displays at the IWA Show in the Nuremberg Exhibition Centre.

German Craftsmanship on Display

Along with displays of guns, optics, and hunting gear, the IWA show features workshop areas where skilled artisans practice their trades — you can see engraving, wood-carving, and other skills in action.

In addition to the firearms exhibitors, the IWA show has many vendors displaying archery and bow-hunting gear. IWA has a strong hunting focus — perhaps more so than SHOT Show in the USA.

There was also an AirSoft Shooting Area at IWA where visitors could practice their marksmanship.

Our friend Vince Bottomley and the Target Shooter Magazine team from the UK is in Germany this week for the IWA Outdoor Classics trade show, aka “Euro SHOT Show”. The big IWA outdoor Expo opened Friday in Nuremberg, Germany. Oh his first day at IWA, Vince already found some interesting products.

Here are a pair of German-engineered Turban reloading presses. Vince writes: “The [press] offered by Turban (Turban-cnc.de) is the ultimate. With this press you just wouldn’t want to stop reloading!” Turban makes presses for all sizes of cartridges. Look at the size of the die on the press on the right. Much like a Forster Co-Ax, the Turban’s priming system sends spent primers down a pipe to a cup.

Vince also discovered a very high-tech, ultra-light-weight F-TR bipod that is mostly carbon fiber. This looks like it belongs on a Formula 1 car. Vince says the Talon Mark 7 bipod is “super light and strong”. We like the arm design, but the feet need to be changed out. Those curved feet are like the Gen One SEB Joy-Pod feet. We’ve learned that flat, wide, ski-type feet work better — recoil is smoother with less hop. The longer, wider feet distribute rifle weight over a larger surface so you get less point-loading and less tendency to bounce with the energy pulse from each shot.
