The Tikka T3x Ace Target was named the 2026 American Rifleman Golden Bullseye “Rifle of the Year”.

The Tikka T3x ACE Target rifle has been named the 2026 American Rifleman Golden Bullseye Rifle of the Year, a highly coveted award presented annually by NRA Media. This impressive factory rifle is a great choice for PRS/NRL competition. It boast a good chassis with full-length ARCA rail, modular magwell, and adjustable cheekpiece. The action is smooth with a nice fluted bolt and big bolt handle knob. On top of the action is a +20 MOA Picatinny rail which helps with long-range shooting. This rifle has shown very good accuracy with factory ammo, aided by an excellent 2-stage trigger that adjusts from 2 to 4 pounds.

Available chamberings are .223 Rem, 6.5 Creedmoor, and .308 Win with prices starting at $1799.00 at EuroOptic.com. The 6.5 Creedmoor with 26″ barrel would be our choice for PRS/NRL competition.

SPECIAL REPORT: NEW Tikka T3x Ace Target Rifle for PRS/NRL

Tikka is best known for its rugged and accurate hunting rifles. But recently Tikka has introduced an impressive new line of T3x Ace Target chassis rifles. These 10.6-lb rigs have impressive alloy chassis stocks, with modular M-LOK and Arca-Swiss compatible fore-ends, and interchangeable magwells. Optimized for PRS/NRL competition, the Tikka T3x Ace Target has a fine 2-stage adjustable trigger, plus a rear stock section with adjustable cheek-piece and nicely-designed attached lower bag rider. NOTE: Tikka also offers the rimfire .22 LR Tikka T1x Ace Target rifle for practice and competition. This is cool because NRL-22 Matches are now very popular.

Accuracy Testing Results
Rifle Shooter, a leading UK gun publication, did extensive accuracy testing of the Tikka T3X Ace Target. This testing is featured in the above video. Shooting from a bench with rear bag and front tripod, the test rifle delivered MOA (or better) accuracy with five out of six types of factory ammo. The best group, 0.68″ for 5 shots, was shot with Lapua ammunition with 167gr Scenar bullets. Here are the test results:

In another test of a Tikka T3X Ace Target, top F-Class shooter Erik Cortina achieved half-MOA or better groups with SAKO 6.5 Creedmoor ammo. Watch Erik shoot the Tikka T3x Ace Target in the video below, starting at 8:22 time-mark.

According to Rifle Ready: “The new Tikka T3X Ace lineup exploded out of SHOT Show 2025 and instantly became one of the most talked-about precision rifles of the year — and for good reason. With multiple testers recording sub-half MOA groups and even extended 15-shot strings under 1 MOA, the Ace is delivering near-custom accuracy right out of the box. Built on the legendary T3C action and paired with a full competition-ready chassis, the Ace Target and Ace Game rifles blend Finnish craftsmanship with modern modularity in a way Tikka fans have waited years for.”

Want to learn more? A Rifle Ready video released this month showcases Tikka T3X features. It covers real-world accuracy tests, reviewer impressions, and the differences between the Target and Game variants. This video does help explain why some shooters say the Ace “beats rifles triple its price”.

In promoting its rifle, Tikka posted: “The T3x Ace Target, crafted with Tikka’s legendary attention to detail, was developed for precision shooters seeking an out-of-the-box competition-ready platform. With its optimized barrel profile, enhanced ergonomics, and refined trigger system, the Ace Target embodies the advanced engineering and shooter-focused design Tikka is known for.” The video below features a test of the .223 Rem variant.

Our friend Jonathan Ocab reviewed the new Match Pro ED 15x56mm binoculars: “Bushnell Optics showed off their new Match Pro ED 15×56 binocular, which is based off of their Forge binocular design. The Forge 15×56 has a good reputation as a budget-friendly binocular with good performance at its price range. The Match Pro ED 15×56 is a hefty binocular with a magnesium chassis coming in at 51 ounces with what is dubbed the SHOT-CALL MRAD reticle. The reticle [rotates in the right barrel] so that it can be leveled for the user’s eyes after the barrels are adjusted to the pupil distance.”

Jonathan added: “My initial impressions of this binocular are positive. It is definitely a bigger, heavier binocular and is not going to be one for field use. This is definitely the type of binocular one would employ on the range at NRL/PRS matches to spot for a shooter.” CLICK HERE for full SHOT Show 2023 Optics report by Jonathan Ocab.

In this video, top PRS shooter Robert Brantley explains the features of the Match Pro ED 15X binoculars. He says these can replace a spotting scope, and he says the Shot-Call Reticle works very well for both ranging and calling hit locations.

Recoil Web also did a review of these new 15×56 binoculars stating: “The new Bushnell Match Pro ED 15×56 binoculars [offering] is a big deal, but maybe just to a niche crowd. For a long time, spotting scopes have often come with a MIL or MOA reticle in the eyepiece so one could spot shots at long range and call corrections or for use in ranging a target if a laser rangefinder wasn’t available. With a reticle in the right barrel, you get a MIL grid for ranging and shot correction like a spotting scope but the [wide] field of view and outstanding glass of the binoculars.”

This Sunday we showcase a top choice for PRS/NRL Production Division competition. Savage Arms has adapted its Impulse straight-pull action for the tactical market. The ability to shoot faster, with less rifle movement, is potentially a game-changer for the tactical/precision rifle competitions where stages run “on the clock” and fast follow-up shots are very important.
The Savage Impulse Elite Precision in the Field
This Savage Arms video shows an Impulse Elite Precision rifle being fired in the field, shooting off a tripod at steel targets. There are good close-ups showing the rifle being shot and cycled rapidly. Starting at 00:19, watch how quickly the operator can cycle the action in just about 1 second. If you are considering purchasing an Impulse Elite Precision, definitely watch this video:

Seven Chamberings Offered for Impulse Elite Precision
The Impulse Elite Precision is offered in seven chamberings: 6mm Creedmoor, 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.5 PRC, .308 Win, .300 PRC, .300 Win Mag, and .338 Lapua Magnum. MSRP for the rifle in 6mm Creedmoor and .308 Win (both with 26″ barrels) is $2499.00. In 6.5 Creedmoor and 6.5 PRC, also with 26″ barrels, the rifle retails for $2719.00. For the bigger chamberings, .300 PRC, .300 Win Mag, and .338 LM, which have 30″ barrels, MSRP is $2799.00. Effective January 1, 2023, the max allowed price for PRS Production Class is $3000.00 (Rule 2.3.1 update).

“The Elite Precision has changed the way Savage shooters think about long-range capability,” said Jessica Treglia, Senior Brand Manager for Savage Arms. “The addition of the Impulse straight-pull action is going to add a new element of speed to an already efficient rifle. When split times are an important aspect of the competition, Impulse Elite Precision will be a game-changer.”

Savage Impulse Straight-Pull Action — Overview

Savage’s Impulse series of straight-pull bolt rifles is the first American-designed and crafted straight-pull centerfire rifle. The new Impulse features an innovative Hexlock bolt-locking mechanism with six spherical bearings that move radially outward into a ring in the barrel extension, thereby locking the bolt in place. That barrel extension is held in the receiver assembly by four cross-bolts on the lower front section. Ahead of the barrel extension is a conventional recoil lug and a familiar Savage barrel nut.

Innovative Hexlock Bolt System in New Savage Impulse

When the bolt is closed, the Hexlock system holds it in place instead of conventional lugs. With the Hexlock, six (6) hardened steel bearings lock the bolt in place inside the receiver’s barrel extension. Savage says “As pressure increases, Hexlock’s hold tightens, ensuring that there can be no rearward movement of the bolt. Once the round has left the barrel, the pressure subsides, and the action can safely open again with the straight pull of the bolt handle.”
