SHOT Show 2026 is featured on Shooting USA today on the Outdoor Channel. SHOT stands for “Shooting Hunting and Outdoor Tradeshow”. The biggest gun industry convention/tradeshow in the world, this huge event attracted over 2,500 exhibitors. Exhibits occupied over 800,000+ square feet in the Venetian EXPO and Caesars Forum.

Industry Day at the Range is a unique event. Gun industry representatives are able to view, inspect, and shoot scores of new rifles, shotguns, and pistols provided by 200+ manufacturers from around the globe. In addition, new optics and shooting accessories are on display. Hundreds of media members and tech personnel visited the range on 1/19/2026 to test a wide variety of new firearms. There were many notable, innovative new rifles, pistols, and optics on display.

Conditions were good this year, with bright skies and temps in the high 60s. Winds did pick up in the afternoon. Still most of the shooting was at targets inside 50 yards so those breezes didn’t stop the show. It did make it more challenging to hit the longer range rifle targets. SIG Pistols — New GT4 and GT5 2011 Handguns

SIG Sauer unveiled the new GT4 and GT5 2011 pistols at an early preview at the Desert Sportsman’s Club range outside Las Vegas. This GunsAmerica video, hosted by our friend True Pearce, provides a first look at these impressive new SIG pistols with competition inspired designs. Details are still under wraps, but these new models are already turning heads with their metal frames and superb accuracy. Pearce praised the ergonomics and accuracy of the new GT4 and GT5.

This rapid-paced A-1 Locksmith video shows numerous rifles and pistols, including full-auto rifles. There are close-ups of new pistols from CZ and demos of multiple suppressors. This is a good, quick intro to the Range Day experience.

The new CZ Shadow 2 Target pistol has attracted much attention, with some very positive reviews. The Firearm Blog says the new Shadow 2 Target may be the most accurate CZ pistol ever made. The NSSF has compiled a webpage showing new handguns introduced in 2024 or late last year. The article, which also appears in SHOT Daily Magazine, covers 10 different manufacturers, small boutique makers as well as large manufacturers. In alphabetical order, the brands covered are: Dickinson Arms, European American Armory, FN, Lone Wolf Arms, Rossi, Smith & Wesson, Stoeger, Taurus, Uberti and Walther.

Beretta 92 GTS

The handsome new Beretta 92 GTS is the latest in Beretta’s historic 92 series. The new Limited Edition features an aluminum finish and handsome wood grips. Internally the 92 GTS features a new twin sear trigger system, offering a different double action experience.

FN 510 and 545 Big Bore Pistol Options

FN has released what it calls “big bore” choices of the original 509 design. The 510 MRD is chambered in 10mm and has 10- and 15-round mags. The 545 MRD is chambered in .45 ACP, also with 10- and 15-round mags. Like the 509, these are polymer-lower, striker-fired designs with 4.1-inch barrels. Both the 510 and 545 are available in black and Flat Dark Earth colors.

Stoeger STR 9mm Combat-X

Stoeger has released an updated version of the STR 9 with some new features such as removal of the finger grooves on the frame, redesigned cocking serrations, and a more robust locking block. This is a nice pistol at an affordable price compared to other comparable 9mm options on the market.

Multiple New Models from Ten Pistol Makers

This video covers ten pistols using mostly factory footage. In this video, Survival Gear spotlights 10 popular pistols displayed at SHOT Show. Some are new, while others have been out for a while. The ten featured handguns are:

SIG Sauer P322 Comp Rimfire

In this video SIG Sauer Shooting Team Captain Max Michel puts the SIG P322-COMP through its paces at the range. The P322-COMP is a competition-ready .22 LR rimfire pistol with class-leading 25+1-round and 20+1-round capacity. It has a threaded barrel equipped with a 2-port compensator and comes with a factory-installed ROMEO Zero Elite Red Dot Optic. There are handy slide rackers, and the polymer grip features an adjustable trigger shoe, and integrated magwell.

Hundreds of media members and gun industry personnel visited the Boulder City, Nevada gun range on Monday, 1/22/24 to get a “hands on” experience testing guns with live ammo. There were many notable new products, with new rifles, pistols, and optics on display, plus new ammo types.

Conditions this year at the range were less than optimal. It was cold and damp, with drizzle and rain during the day. Still most of the shooting was at targets inside 50 yards so the raindrops didn’t stop the show. It did make it more challenging to hit the longer range targets set up on the upper rifle bay.

This Outdoor News America video covers the action at the start of Industry Day at the Range 2024. The reporter visits five different gun makers (Armscor, Walther, Diamondback, SDS Imports, American Tactical) and tests handguns on steel targets.

Radical New Reciprocating Barrel Rifle from Olympus Arms

The New Olympus Arms Vulcan is an AR10-style rifle that has a unique mechanism. The rifle’s barrel cycles back and forth, absorbing most of the recoil energy. GunsAmerica Digest Editor True Pearce tests this rifle. At the 2:02 mark in video, you can see the barrel cycle after shots. With its new Vulcan, Olympus Arms has revived a classic firearms mechanism with a unique long-action reciprocating barrel similar to the Browning Automatic 5 shotgun. The Vulcan is currently offered in .308 Win, with a .277 Sig version in the works.

Early SHOT Show Reveal from SIG Sauer

GunsAmerica Digest Editor True Pearce was checking out new products at Industry Day at the Range, including the new line of Staccato Ammunition. Back in Vegas, True managed to get an early look at an interesting rifle from SIG Sauer, the Cross Trax Compact Hunting Rifle. With a skeletonized, folding stock, the lightweight Cross Trax can be easily carried in a day pack. While SHOT Show doesn’t officially start until Tuesday morning, Pearce and crew managed to get this exclusive preview before SHOT Show 2024 officially opened to the public. The Cross Trax weighs just 6.1 pounds as chambered in .308 Winchester.

Beretta Range Day — Wide Variety of Guns Tested

This 51-minute Classic Firearms video covers a huge variety of Beretta pistols, rifles, and shotguns. These guns were showcased at the Beretta private Range Day event held earlier at the Desert Sportsman’s Range in West Las Vegas. Shotguns are featured in the first segments, followed by pistols at the 10 minute mark.

A radical new tactical rifle, the UXR (User Xchange Rifle) was just introduced by PWS (Primary Weapons Systems). This unique, revolutionary rifle allows users to quickly switch chamberings by exchanging just three parts: barrel, magwell, and bolt head. Initially available in 5.56×45 and .300 BLK variations, the UXR platform will also be available in .308 Win and 8.6 BLK configurations later this year.

Reason — Protect Your Hearing
Owning and using a suppressor helps prevent hearing loss. Hearing loss is a legitimate health concern that all firearms owners should be concerned about. Firearms are loud. The average firearm without a suppressor is between 140-165 dB and creates what is called an impulse noise (i.e. a noise that lasts for less than one second).

OSHA’s limit for impact/impulse noise is 140 dB…. Every time you fire a gun (including a .22 LR) without hearing protection or a suppressor, you can permanently lose hearing and it never returns. Surgery and hearing aids cannot restore the hearing you lose — it’s gone forever. Suppressors do not make your gun silent! However, they can make the impulse noise much less than 140 dB.

Reason — Reduce Muzzle Blast
A suppressor reduces or eliminates muzzle blast. Traditionally, we associate flinching with recoil, and while recoil can contribute to flinching, many shooters are finding that when using a suppressor on a caliber with no recoil they don’t suffer from the concussion, noise, and blast. As a result, they don’t close their eyes, flinch, or jerk the trigger.

Reason — Reduce Felt Recoil
A suppressor … reduces recoil or kick. Nobody that’s telling the truth enjoys getting punched in the shoulder, and that’s essentially what happens when you shoot a lightweight centerfire magnum rifle. Suppressors are very effective at slowing the recoil down or [reducing it significantly]. I personally observed a small (70-lb) 12-year-old boy shoot a 5.5-pound 6.5 PRC with a suppressor. After shooting he got up smiling and said, “That didn’t kick at all!”.

Reason — Reduce Muzzle Rise to Keep Your View on Target
Suppressors reduce muzzle rise and make it possible to stay on target through your shot [so you can watch the trace and impact]. This allows you to make your own wind calls and corrections.

Reason — Reduce Dust and Dirt Kicked Up from Muzzle Blast
Suppressors prevent snow, dust, dirt, or other debris from blowing up when you shoot prone. If you’ve shot much with muzzle brakes, you know this is a real thing.

SIG Sauer MCX-Spear Tactical Rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor

SIG Sauer’s MCX-Spear will soon be available to purchase. GunsAmerica Digest Editor True Pearce was impressed with this advanced tactical rifle, which is a semi-auto version of the full-auto platform that won the Next Generation Squad Weapon (NGSW) contract with the U.S. military. MSRP for the MXC-Spear is $4199.00. It will initially be offered in .308 Winchester, and then 6.5 Creedmoor soon after. A few months later, the new .277 SIG chambering should be available. This looks like an AR, but because it has a gas piston (rather than direct impingement), it needs no AR-type buffer tube. This allows a handy folding stock. New 2311 Pistol from Oracle Arms — A Thoroughly Modern 1911

The all-new Oracle Arms 2311 has features derived from the classic 1911 platform, but modernized in many ways. Will this be a game changer? Only time will tell. The Hunt Fish Shoot Channel testers state “a completely ambidextrous 2011-style pistol with P320 magazines is something to get excited about!”

Beretta A300 Ultima Patrol Shotgun

The new Beretta A300 Ultima Patrol is an American-made semi-automatic tactical shotgun for under $1000. The A300 series carries forward many features of the popular Beretta 1301, but with a redesigned operating system and lower price tag. This was filmed at the Special Beretta 2023 Range Day.

Henry Homesteader 9mm Semi-Auto Pistol Caliber Carbine

Henry Repeating Arms is known for classically-styled, lever-action rifles, but the new Homesteader is very different. This is a semi-automatic, 9mm Luger-chambered pistol-caliber carbine complete with a two-piece wood stock, open sights, and a 16″ threaded barrel. The design employs a proprietary magazine, though adapters for Glock, SIG Sauer P320, and Smith & Wesson M&P magazines will also be available.

REPEAT Performance — Savage Impulse Elite Precision Rifle

As we recently featured Savage’s straight-pull Impulse Elite Precision rifle in our Daily Bulletin, we are reprising a video from Range Day 2022. GunsAmerica Digest Editor True Pearce tested the Impulse Elite Precision at the Savage range booth. Pearce confirmed that the straight-pull action can, with a little practice, definitely increase rifle cycling speed: “It’s much faster to chamber follow-up shots, and stay on target. The popularity of PRS shooting has inspired a variety of new field-style marksmanship competitions, conducted in open country. These events combine hiking, rangefinding, and shooting from improvised positions. The newest outdoor rifle competition in North America is the Hunter Games, a tough 3-Day event sponsored by gun- and optics-maker SIG Sauer. Conducted June 13-16, 2021 on a private Wyoming ranch, the course covered a variety of terrain and elevation. There were flats, rivers, high ridges and Aspen groves. This was the opposite of a “lay down and shoot” rifle match.

Competitors had to navigate tough terrain from stage to stage. During the course of the event, there were multiple creek crossings, and over 1000 feet of elevation on one stage. Contestants had only 30 minutes to traverse between stages.

True Pearce, Editor of GunsAmerica Digest and Hunt365, attended the Hunter Games, and shot many of the 22 challenging stages, filling in for an injured competitor. Pearce noted: “The stages were designed to be blind hunting scenarios where the contestants had only 15 minutes to find the targets, range them, figure out a shooting position… and make the shots.” The targets were steel plates shaped/sized to match a game animal’s vital zones. These plates were placed in front of a life-sized illustration of the animal, but only hits on the plates counted.

At the first-ever SIG SAUER Hunter Games, there were ten teams in total. Each team consisted of a professional hunter, two invited celebrities, and a Range Officer who kept score and enforced rules. The RO also carried an extra rifle, radio, and first aid kit.

This was quite different than a typical shooting match where the competitors sign up. All the “celebrity” competitors were invited by SIG Sauer, which provided SIG Cross Rifles, SIG optics, and SIG hunting ammunition. We like the idea of a hunting-focused match, with everyone shooting the same rifles and ammunition.

Winning the first-ever SIG SAUER Hunter Games was Team Ramshorn: Trent Fisher, Scotty Lago, and Justin Rackley. In addition to the trophy, each team member won a SIG Legion Custom Works P320 AXG pistol.

True Pearce observed that the challenges of this unique outdoor event, along with camping together in the wild, brought people together: “Complete strangers became lifelong friends — Most of the contestants had never met each other and were from very diverse walks of life. After ‘hunting’ together for two days, the comradery was really something to see and I have no doubt many lifelong friendships were created.”
