Supplier Showcase Monday and Tuesday
Even before the SHOT Show exhibit halls open, attendees can meet with industry representatives at the SHOT Show Supplier Showcase. This two-day event starts early on Monday, January 16th. It is hosted at the Palazzo Ballroom on the 5th Floor of the Venetian hotel. Over 500 suppliers will participate. For persons who use or produce tools, machinery, plastics, fabrics, OE materials, logistics, software or other products and services for the shooting, hunting, outdoor and law enforcement industries, the Supplier Showcase provides the opportunity to connect with a wide range of manufacturers and other industry professionals.

SHOT After Dark — New Evening Event
SHOT After Dark is a series of networking events each evening Tuesday through Thursday after the main exhibit halls close. On Tuesday there is a Industry Welcome Reception at the Great Outdoors Plaza followed by a Rock and Roll themed event at Rockhouse Las Vegas. On Wednesday there will be an All Star Jam Concert outside Caesars Forum, next to Great Outdoors Plaza.
Registration Center Open Now
The SHOT Show center at the Venetian EXPO Complex is open now to take registrations. In addition the Supplier Showcase takes place today and tommorow.
SHOT Show 2023 is right around the corner, with the annual NSSF Gun Industry convention opening its doors to dealers and media on Tuesday, January 17, 2023. Thousands of new products will be unveiled for the first time at SHOT Show 2023, including hundreds of new rifles. Today’s Saturday Movie showcase features a number of new (or nearly-new) rifles that will be on display at SHOT Show 2023 in Las Vegas. This showcase gives our readers a chance to preview some of the newest hunting, precision, and tactical rifles on the market even before retail buyers get to handle them at SHOT Show display booths.
Five Best New Generation Precision and Sniper Rifles for 2023

Three Impressive Modern Rifles — Including a Cool Ultralight
This 10-minute Central Gear video covers three fairly interesting rifles. PRS/NRL fans will like the Daniel Defense Delta 5 Pro Precision Rifle, a modern mag-fed chassis rig for PRS/NRL competition. With over 620,000 subscribers, the Backfire YouTube Channel is very popular. It has earned a strong following for its multi-product comparison tests and straight-talk “No BS” reviews. In this video, Backfire reviews three new rifles from Bergara: The Bergara B14 Squared Crest, The Bergara Wilderness Ridge Carbon, and the Bergara HMR Carbon. All three products are well suited for hunting and varminting.
Five New Rifles for 2023 — Wide Variety of Platforms
The five rifles featured in this video have just hit the market. Most of these were first revealed at the NASGW (Nat’l Assn. Sporting Goods Wholesalers) EXPO a few months ago. Many will also be showcased soon at SHOT Show 2023 next week. The five featured rifles are: 1) Traditions Shed Horn .50 Cal Muzzleloader (1:02 time-mark); 2) Rock River Arms LAR22 (3:19); Mossberg Patriot Predator (5:47); Live Free Armory Challenger (8:28); and Pioneer Arms 556 (11:05). Two of these five choices are AR-type rifles, and one is an AK variant underfolder. The reviewer notes: “Here are five of the best new rifles introduced at NASGW 2022 … to keep an eye out for in 2023.”
Top AR-Platform Rifles for 2023
AR-platform “Modern Sporting Rifles” continue to be top sellers because of their affordability and versatility. An AR rifle can be used for Service Rifle competition, 3-Gun games, varmint hunting, and of course, home defense. This video features 15 modern-generation AR-platform rifles. Most of these rifles will be on display at SHOT Show in Las Vegas starting Tuesday January 17, 2023.
SHOT Show 2023 is three days away. The 2023 event kicks off with Industry Day at the Range on Monday, January 16, 2023. Then the indoor event runs Tuesday the 17th through Friday the 20th. There will be over 2600 exhibitors from all 50 states and dozens of nations. This year continues with SHOT Show running in TWO large exhibit halls — the Venetian Expo and the relatively new Caesars Forum. Total exhibit space for the 2023 show in these two venues is more than 800,000 net square feet — equivalent to more than 18 acres (about 14 football fields). And with these twin halls, SHOT Show boasts 13.9 miles of aisles!

ZENK RZMK-357 Modern Revolver
The new ZENK RZMK-357 is a radical new revolver with a patented design. The frame is similar to a semi-auto, but with a rotary cylinder. Zenk states that the patented design allows for a more balanced recoil, and states that the unique design gives the shooter “more accuracy and comfort”. The RZMK fires .357 Magnum ammunition, loaded into a 6-round cylinder like a conventional wheelgun. The top section of the pistol tilts upwards to allow loading into the rear of the cylinder.
KOR 5er VRS Gun Case Insert (Foam Replacement)
KOR’s patented Vacuum Rigidizing Structure (VRS®) 5er insert is a foam replacement system for existing gun cases. The technology eliminates the need to cut, pluck, or customize interior foam. This, KOR claims, allows gun owners to have “one case for everything in their safe”. The VRS system “customizes interior by conforming to contents”. The interior is filled with “rigidizing beads” which provide a custom fit. You can change the rifle or accessories and the VRS adapts to the new contents using a vacuum pump. KOR states that its VRS system has “no shifting contents, corrosion, crushing, abrasion, or rust inside.” The 5er VRS insert is compatible with many case types from Pelican and SKB.
MDT TIMBR Frontier — Wood Stock with Internal Metal Chassis
The MDT Timbr Frontier has the look and feel of traditional stock with the benefits of a modern chassis with V-block. The buttstock and fore-end are made of clear-coated Birch hardwood laminate attached to an aluminum micro-chassis and bottom metal. The Timbr Frontier stock offers adjustable Length of pull, adjustable cheek riser, and interchangeable rubber over-molded grips. You can easily add accessories to the M-LOK fore-end and buttstock. With a weight of just 4 pounds, the Timbr Frontier stock works for hunting as well as target shooting. The stock can take standard AICS pattern magazines.

MDT XRS CZ 455 Chassis
The MDT XRS CZ 455 chassis is a PRS-style chassis for the popular CZ 455 rimfire rig. Each XRS chassis is constructed from a full-length CNC machined core of 6061 aircraft grade aluminum with high-strength textured polymer surface panels. The chassis employs a precision aluminum V-block bedding system that fits the CZ action well. This chassis can be enhanced with other MDR accessories, including MDT XRS weight-compatible fore-end, enclosed fore-end, and MDT XRS TIMBR kit. The XRS chassis features a detachable grip system, with both an angled grip and a vertical grip included.
Savage Impulse Mountain Hunter Straight-Pull Light Rifle
Savage’s Impulse Mountain Hunter is a light-weight, straight-pull hunting rifle with an aluminum action. Reduced weight is a boon for big-game treks. The key feature on the Impulse Mountain Hunter is the PROOF Research carbon fiber-wrapped stainless steel barrel with muzzle brake. Other features include: user-adjustable AccuTrigger; removable, multi-positional bolt handle; one-piece 20 MOA rail; adjustable LOP; and two-position tang safety. Impulse Mountain Hunters with 22″ barrels are offered in .308 Win, 6.5 Creedmoor, .270 Win, and .30-06 SPRG. Longer 24″-barrel versions are sold in 300 WSM, 6.5 PRC, 28 Nosler, 7mm Rem Mag, and .300 Win Mag chamberings.
EAA MC P35 OPS Optic-Equipped Pistol
EAA Corp. has a new 9mm handgun with a host of upgrades. The new EAA MC P35 OPS pistol features an EAA FAR-DOT red dot rear sight (factory installed), fiber-optic front sight, G10 grips, extended beavertail, straight trigger, beveled mag well, plus a integrated accessory rail. The red dot is directly mounted to the pistol and does not require an adaptor plate. The pistol is compatible with various Holosun optics.
Mantis BlackbeardX Training System
The Mantis BlackbeardX system combines the MantisX and Mantis Blackbeard training products. BlackbeardX goes beyond a shot timer — it includes motion-based analysis of the user’s efficiency in a high-speed, multi-target engagement. It analyzes the user’s economy of motion across multiple dimensions, giving real-time feedback on where and how they can improve. BlackbeardX connects to the existing MantisX App via Bluetooth. This Blackbeard X system offers a new capability called “dynamic shooting analysis”.
NEW Kiger-9C from Anderson Manufacturing
The Kiger-9c is the first-ever handgun produced by Anderson Manufacturing. This 15+1 striker-fired pistol features a modern-designed polymer frame, with over-molded front and rear slide rails. The slide and barrel are DLC-treated for corrosion resistance. Other features include Picatinny rail and texturing on both frame sides. The new Kiger-9c is compatible with most GLOCK 19 Gen3 aftermarket components.
Hornady 7mm PRC Factory Ammunition
The 7mm PRC (Precision Rifle Cartridge) is becoming popular with hunters and long-range shooters. Hornady says the 7mm PRC “provides accuracy, consistency and long-range performance by delivering long, heavy-for-caliber bullets in a standard long action”. Hornady loads 7mm PRC amo with temp-stable, Magnum-speed propellants for consistent velocity and longer barrel life. Hornady 7mm PRC ammunition is offered in these types: Outfitter, 160gr CX bullet; Match, 180gr ELD Match bullet; and Precision Hunter, 175gr ELD-X bullet. A variety of reloading accessories and components are also available for the 7mm PRC.
