Headed to SHOT Show in January 2020? Then you should check out the full floor plan of the event before you head to Las Vegas. Locating companies in the vast Sands Expo Center can be difficult — there are thousands of exhibitor booths spread across multiple floors. In addition, the aisle/booth numbering system in the Sands Expo can be very confusing for first time visitors.
You can plan your SHOT Show experience with a searchable, interactive online SHOT Show Floor Plan. This shows all the exhibitors on all the floors. To find a particular company, use the “Search” field (upper left). Or, to browse, you can click on the menu icon (three lines above the printer symbol). For example, here we used the Search Field to locate Capstone Precision Group, parent of Berger, Lapua, Vihtavuori, and SK.
There is also a separate map for the upper Supplier Showcase zone. This area, above the main floor, has smaller displays set up in the aisles of the conference area. Over 500 companies will have products on display. To access this map, simply click on the Supplier Showcase Tab on the SHOT Show Floorplan website. Then use the search function to locate companies. You can also move your curser around the map and company names will appear when the cursor selects a particular booth. Here we’ve located RUAG Ammotec USA.
Headed to SHOT Show in Las Vegas next month? Then you should download the FREE SHOT Show Mobile App. Available for all mobile devices, this App really makes it easier to plan your SHOT Show schedule, and navigate the floor of the Sands Convention Center. The 2020 SHOT Show Mobile App is now available for download on Apple, Android, and Windows smartphones and devices. Apple users will find the app in the App Store, Android users will find their version in the Google Play Store. Windows users can access via the WEB Dashboard. Learn more at SHOTmobile.com.
NOTE: We are somewhat skeptical about the 2020 SHOT Show App. The 2018 SHOT Show App worked very well. The 2019 SHOT Show App crashed early and often and the mapping feature was frustrating. Hopefully the software will be better in 2020 than in 2019.
Handy Interactive Map
The App includes an interactive map that can direct you from your current location to your next destination. Arrange your meetings with a handy scheduling calendar. And you can search for any SHOT exhibitor by name or product category. In addition, the App lists major show events as well as important new products.

What covers an area greater than the Great Pyramid at Giza, attracts visitors from 100 countries, and has over 1600 exhibitor booths distributed along 12.5 MILES of Aisles? The SHOT Show in Vegas is the correct answer. The annual trade show for the $6 billion per year fireams/hunting industry, SHOT Show is the ultimate gathering for all things gun-related. Just how big is SHOT Show? This NSSF Infographic reveals some amazing facts:

If you’ve never visited SHOT Show, you may not know what a huge operation it represents. Filling the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas with 1600 exhibits covering 630,000 square feet is like building a small indoor city from scratch. Starting from bare floors and walls, workers labor furiously to assemble 1600+ booths before Show attendees storm the gates. And then, a few days later, all those exhibits must be torn down, boxed up, and shipped out. It’s a Herculean task. And here, with the aid of time-lapse photography, you can experience the entire SHOT Show in just 96 seconds.
In this short video filmed at SHOT Show 2012, time-lapse photography is used to compress the entire SHOT Show into one 96-second montage. Watch a small section of the Show floor from start to finish (including prep time) at this year’s event. It’s a fun video to watch — you can “experience” an entire Show day in a mere 10 seconds. For example, Tuesday starts at the 0:33 second mark and Wednesday begins just 10 seconds (of video time) later. Appropriately, the soundtrack is “Flight of the Bumblebee” by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov.

The first edition of NSSF’s SHOT Show Blast for the 2010 show in Las Vegas is now online. Featured are details on the latest SHOT Show survey results, a look at the new venue for 2010 and information on how to make travel plans for the show.
NEW Location for Vegas SHOT Show
The 2010 SHOT Show will NOT be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center as in years past. For 2010, SHOT Show will be housed in the Sands Expo Center (MegaCenter), located next to the Venetian hotel on the Vegas Strip. The main entrance to the show is on Sands Ave., diagonally northeast of the Venetian.
It’s not too early to start planning for the show, which runs Jan 19-22, 2010. Blocks of rooms are already selling out at some hotels. While the Venetian/Palazzo is very, very expensive, just south of the MegaCenter are the Harrah’s Hotel/Casino, the Imperial Palace, and the Flamingo. Harrah’s is probably the best choice of the three, but rooms are selling quickly. There are still rooms available in the Imperial Palace for under $50.00 per night. However, this is an older hotel lacking the amenities of most modern Las Vegas hotels
To book rooms for the 2010 SHOT Show, you can log on to the SHOT Show Travel Desk. This travel service offers rooms in 19 major Las Vegas hotels, offering a “best rate pledge.” We found the SHOT Travel Desk rates to be good, but sometimes lower prices could be found on discount sites such as Hotels.com and Priceline.com. It pays to shop around.
