Excellent Lapua Video Shows Ammo and Brass Being Made
Lapua has a very cool video — “eye candy” for any precision shooter. Definitely WATCH THIS VIDEO. This 12-minute video contains a surprising amount of “hard” info on Lapua products. As well, there are some amazing segments showing Lapua brass and rimfire ammo being produced. Watch carefully and you’ll see most of the processes used for forming and loading brass. Another short segment shows a Lapua technician inspecting a case for run-out. Neat.
The video spotlights some of the important American and international records set with Lapua ammo. You’ll see top 300m and Olympic rifle shooters in action, and there are also short comments from many champions, including American Benchrest legend Tony Boyer.
NOTE: This is long video — you may need to let it buffer (pre-load) for 10 seconds before playback. If that doesn’t work, let the entire video load, then hit the replay button.

Hey ! I finally know how to pronounce Scenar! All this time I thought it was SEENar.
As a member of the IBS records committee I wish they had used the official IBS measurement for John’s 600 yd. target. It’s a .404″ not the range measured .386″ they advertise.
Dave
HA! I’ve heard the Fins at Shot pronounce Lapua and the Brit needs a few lessons.
It’s la-PU-a, not LA-pu-a. And it’s not SEENar, it’s SCE-nar.
Sorry, SKE-nar. There that pronounces better.
I’ve heard Lapua pronounced “La-pwaa” as well as the normal way, “La-Poo-a” but I’d never heard anyone pronounce scenar as “skinnah”….
More confused than ever. But they make great brass.
As long as you get your name on an invoice, you may pronounce Lapua and/or Scenar however you desire.
However, at the Lapua factory, Lapua is pronounce La pwa. Soft a’s, and emphasis on the 1st syllable.
I was thinking it was going to show how brass was made.
Yes, I also got tired of waiting, and watching all the marketing information, so off it went.
“HA! I’ve heard the Fins at Shot pronounce Lapua and the Brit needs a few lessons.”
But have you asked them explicitly how to pronounce the word in their own language?
If not, they are most likely accommodating the way Americans pronounce it to avoid confusion. Similarly, when I have to pronounce my Chinese name to Americans, I do so *without tones* to make it easier for them to replicate the sounds.
BTW, I doubt that the narrator of the video is a Brit.
It’s interesting to know more about this heritage brand. Lapua is sold all over the world and I don’t think many people know about the company. People should know more about the science and technology behind ammunition products more than their purpose to appreciate them.
