At the request of our readers, we provide select “Deals of the Week”. Every Monday morning we offer our Best Bargain selections. Here are some of the best deals on firearms, hardware, reloading components, optics, and shooting accessories. Be aware that sale prices are subject to change, and once clearance inventory is sold, it’s gone for good. You snooze, you lose.
1. Midsouth — Lyman Brass Smith Ideal Press, $77.49
Lyman’s new Ideal compact press works great as a second, lighter-duty press. It also is a good choice for loading at the range. It can easily be mounted to a range bench with C-clamps. With its cast-iron body, this C-Frame press is stronger than other presses in its price class. If you are looking for a secondary press for decapping, bullet-seating and other tasks not requiring heavy leverage, this is an excellent choice. The Lyman Ideal costs just $77.49 at Midsouth Shooters Supply.
2. Grizzly.com — Bald Eagle Rests $139.95 – $199.95
Bald Eagle (by Grizzly) offers one of the best value-priced front rests on the market. We’ve seen F-Class shooters win matches with the Bald Eagle Slingshot Windage Rest, which costs less than a fifth of a premium co-axial rest. For a new shooter, this is a very cost-effective solution. One Forum member purchased the Bald Eagle for his young grandson, deciding it was the best rest under $300.00. All three rests shown offer a cable (with large knob) for easy windage adjustment. The Slingshot model, in cast iron or aluminum, has an elongated front leg for added stability. This also brings the Windage knob within easy reach. The basic aluminum, triangle rest is compact and easy to carry. Note: Front sandbag sold separately.
3. Graf & Sons — Sightron Scope + 1050 Rds .22LR Ammo, $99.99
NOTE: This is for Phone orders only. Repeat: You must order by phone to get this offer!
Here is a stunning deal. Get a 3-9x32mm Sightron scope — adequate for a basic hunting rifle. Then Graf’s will knock $50 off the price, for a net cost of $99.99. But there’s more. When you CALL in this order, Graf’s will give you TWO (2) 525-round boxes of Federal .22 LR Ammo, a $49.98 value. That’s a heck of a deal. But act soon. This is a limited time offer. And remember, this is for PHONE ORDERS ONLY — call Graf & Sons at 800-531-2666.
4. Midsouth and Powder Valley — Hodgdon H4350 on Sale
For a long time Hodgdon H4350 powder has been very hard to find. Now some of our favorite online retailers have H4350 in stock now, in both 1-pound and 8-pound containers. Midsouth Shooters Supply has Hodgdon H4350 8-lb jugs for $191.45 and H4350 one-pound containers in stock for $26.45. Powder Valley has one-pound containers of H4350 in-stock now for $26.55 and the 8-pounders for $189.75. That’s an excellent price. If you want an 8-pounder, we suggest you act quickly.
5. Natchez — Bushnell Elite 4500 6-24x40mm Scope, $359.99
Bushnell’s highly-regarded Elite 4500 Series scopes offer very good performance and reliability for the price. Here’s a great deal on a Bushnell 6-24x40mm Elite 4500 with Multi-X Reticle, 1/4-MOA clicks, and 1″-diameter main tube. Right now this fine optic is just $359.99 — nearly $240 off the regular price. This would be a good choice for a varmint rifle. Hard to find better glass at anywhere near this price. Verified buyer states: “Great scope. Clear, tracks correctly, and is repeatable. Great glass, to my eyes better than Leupold VX3 and Weavers.” Get FREE Shipping with code FS180723 through 7/24/18.
6. CDNN — Walther Creed 9mm Pistol, $269.99
The Walther Creed offers excellent ergonomics, good accuracy, and well-designed controls at a killer price — $269.99 at CDNN Sports. This gun, designed to be a value-leader, emulates Walther’s more expensive PPQ model (MSRP $649.00) at a much lower price. The Creed’s frame size and shape is the same as the PPQ, but the Creed lacks interchangeable backstraps. Slide and trigger are very similar. The Creed features a snag-free bobbed hammer. Testers have praised the new Creed, saying that, despite the bargain price, it “sacrifices little to nothing in… ergonomics, accuracy, and reliability.”
7. Grafs.com — Magnetospeed Sporter $178.99
If you have been waiting to get a Magnetospeed… wait no longer. Priced at just $178.99 at Grafs.com, the Magnetospeed Sporter model costs less than half as much as Magnetospeed’s V3 models. This chronograph attaches directly to your barrel so you don’t have to go downrange to position tripods and set up skyscreens. For most people the Sporter Model contains all the features they need. Using Magnetospeed’s XFR adapter (sold separately), data can be transferred easily from the display module to your mobile device. READ Magnetospeed Sporter Review.
8. Brownells — 9x19mm Ammo, $9.99 per 50-round Box
The 9mm Luger (aka 9x19mm) is the world’s most popular centerfire handgun cartridge. Now you can purchase quality, big-name 9mm ammo for under $10 per 50-count box. Choose either the aluminum-cased Federal Champion ammo (115gr FMJ), or the brass-cased Sellier and Bellot ammo (124gr FMJ). We’ve shot both types of ammo and they both functioned well in SIG, Glock, and S&W pistols. Order by the box, or buy 1000 rounds of the Federal 115gr FMJ for $174.90, just 17.5 cents per round.
9. Amazon — Jialitte Scope Bubble Level, $11.99
If you shoot long range, you need a scope level. This nicely designed Jialitte Scope Bubble Level is fully CNC-machined to close tolerances for a good fit. It features a 30mm milled inside diameter, plus an inner insert ring so it will also fit 1″-diameter main tubes — that dual-diameter versatility is a nice feature. We also like the way the unit is nicely radiused, and has a low profile in the middle. User reviews have been very positive. You could easily pay $35.00 or more for a 30mm scope level. Purchasers have praised this product — almost all verified buyers have rated this five stars.

At the request of our readers, we provide select “Deals of the Week”. Every Monday morning we offer our Bargain selections. Here are some of the best deals on firearms, hardware, reloading components, and shooting accessories. Be aware that sale prices are subject to change, and once clearance inventory is sold, it’s gone for good. You snooze you lose.
1. CDNN Sports — Ruger American Ranch Rifle (Tan), $349.99
Here’s a nice little varmint rifle from Ruger with good features and performance at a killer price: $349.99. You could pay that much just for a barrel. This .223 Rem rifle features a 16.5″ hammer-forged barrel barrel threaded 1/2″-28 at the muzzle for brake or suppressor. The action, which features a 70° three-lug bolt, and Picatinny-style scope rail, sits in an aluminum bedding block. The crisp trigger adjusts down to 3 pounds. With a weight (before optics) of 6.1 pounds, this is a handy carry-around varminter. We like this rifle. For $349.99 it’s a steal.
2. Precision Reloading — NEW High-BC Sierra 6mm 110gr SMKs
Here’s the new King of the 6mm Hill. Sierra’s new 110gr 6mm MatchKing, optimized for a 1:7″-twist barrel, promises class-leading ballistics. The listed G1 Ballistic Coefficient (BC) is an impressive 0.617. That’s 12.8% higher than the 0.547 G1 BC Sierra claims for its older 107gr MatchKing. That’s a very significant improvement. We attribute the reduced drag of the new 110-grainer to an improved hybrid-ogive bullet shape along with smaller meplats and (we believe) pointed tips.
If you want to try out Sierra’s impressive new 6mm (0.243) MatchKings, visit Precision Reloading, which got some of the very first production run from Sierra. You may want to pick up powder and primers too. Now through the end of the year, Precision Reloading is offering a low $15 HazMat fee on any powder and primer order.
3. Midsouth — Lock ‘N Load Complete Reloading Kit, $259.99
The Hornady Lock-N-Load Classic Reloading Kit comes with everything you need to turn out high-quality handloads. The $259.99 Kit includes: Hornady Lock-N-Load Classic single-stage press, Hornady Powder Measure, Digital Scale, Two-Volume Hornady Reloading Manual, Three Lock-N-Load Die Bushings, Reloading Block, Chamfer/Debur Tool, Hand Priming Tool, and One Shot™ Case Lube. We’ve used this press and it is excellent. The L-N-L bushings allow fast die changes.
4. Bruno’s — 46x48mm Weaver T-Series XR Scope, $739.95
Need a reliable, high-magnification scope for your benchrest rifle, but on a tight budget? Then look no further. Here’s a great deal. Weaver’s latest T-Series XR scopes are now just $739.95 at Brunos Shooters Supply. These Weaver scopes are renown for their repeatability and precise clicks. This new model features 1/8 MOA clicks and side-focus parallax adjustment. The XR series are offered with Fine Cross Hair or Target Dot reticles. Even with a 48mm front objective, these XR scopes weigh just 24 ounces. Save big bucks — these Weaver XRs sell elsewhere for $899.00.
5. Cabela’s — Lyman TurboSonic Cleaning Machine, $49.99
If you have brass or small parts to clean an ultrasonic cleaning machine really comes in handy. This Lyman machine was a good deal at $69.99 before. Now it is an awesome deal at $49.99 from Cabela’s. Plus, for a limited time, you can also get FREE Shipping. At check-out, use Code 6JOLLY for free shipping on orders of $49.00 or more.
6. Natchez — Hornady 22-Cal Varmint Bullets, $9.99 Per 100
Headed out for a varmint safari next spring? Need inexpensive bullets to load up this winter for your .223 Rem or 22-250? Then check out this deal on Hornady 55-grainers from Natchez. Get 100 Soft Point .224-Caliber FB bullets for just $9.99. At that price, it doesn’t hurt so much when you shoot 1000+ rounds over a weekend. With good expansion, these bullets work great on prairie dogs and other small critters. Note: These sale bullets ship in a bag, not the box as shown.
7. Natchez — 1k Rounds Blazer 9mm (Brass Cased), $199.99
This is quality, CCI made-in-USA ammo with reloadable, brass casings. We have used this CCI-made Blazer 9mm ammo in Sig, HK, and Glock pistols and it performed very well. This stuff won’t last long at this price (less than $0.20 per round). If you need 9mm practice ammo, order soon — this very same 1000-round case of Blazer 9mm ammo costs $60.00 more at MidwayUSA. Blazer Brass is loaded in boxer-primed, reloadable brass cases for added value.
8. Cabelas.com — Catch-All Gear Bag $9.99
This versatile bag holds lots of gear, and you can’t beat the price — just $9.99. At 16″x10″x6″ it’s big enough to hold rifle ammo, muffs, a Kestrel, and other accessories. It can also serve as a general utiling bag for car camping trips. Six exterior pockets, including zippered mesh pockets on top and side, provide multiple storage options. This Catch-All Gear Bag is available in Forest Green/Black and Dark Green/Camo. This a real bargain — the original price was $24.99.
9. RCBS — Buy Green, Get Green Rebate

1. Midsouth — 20-60x60mm Vortex Spotting Scope, $399.99
This is a very good spotting scope for the price. Yes it gives up some low-light performance to a spotter with an 80mm objective, but otherwise it is a good performer, and we can’t think of much that will touch this Vortex Diamondback spotting scope for anywhere near the $399.99 sale price. Choose from angled or straight version for the same $399.99 price, which includes the 20-60X zoom eyepiece.
Magnification: 20-60X Zoom
Objective Lens Diameter: 60 mm
Eye Relief: 14-17 mm |
Close Focus: 20 feet
Length: 14 inches
Weight: 33.8 ounces |
2. Amazon — Caldwell Long Range Target Camera System, $399.49
A few Forum members have purchased this system and they’ve found that it works reliably, providing a clear signal to any WiFi-enabled mobile device (smartphone, iPad, Laptop). One member specifically tested the unit at 1000 yards and it functioned fine. NOTE: This system does NOT have a zoom camera lens, so you need to position the camera with 10 yards or so of the target. But if you place it to the side a bit, this shouldn’t be a problem. This system comes with a very nice, fitted carrying case that holds camera, transceivers, antennas, and stands. You get a very capable system for under $400.00.
3. Sportsmans SuperStore — .243 Win Ruger Prec. Rifle, $1049.50
The Ruger Precision Rifle has been one of the hottest-selling long guns in America since its releases. It has pretty much been sold out for months. And Ruger just bumped the price on the new Gen2 edition up to $1599.00 MSRP. The Superstore got hold of some of some Gen 1 production RPRs in .243 Winchester. These rifles are IN STOCK and on sale for $1049.50. That’s a great price. The venerable .243 Win cartridge is a good choice for this rifle — Gavin Gear of UltimateReloder.com has an RPR chambered in .243 Win that has proven very accurate.
4. Grafs.com — Magnetospeed Sporter $179.99
If you have been waiting to get a Magnetospeed… wait no longer. Priced at just $179.99 at Grafs.com, the Magnetospeed Sporter model costs less than half as much as Magnetospeed’s V3 models. 5. Amazon — Gun Concealment Furniture Bench, $126.32
The American Furniture Classics Gun Concealment Storage Bench hold ups to five (5) long guns. There is also a removable accessory tray for handguns or other accessories. There is padding on top and the outside of the bench is covered with stitched brown polyurethane. In the upper compartment (above the guns), you can store blankets, bedding, or other outdoor gear. NOTE: while the lower gun compartment has a lock, this is NOT a steel-shielded gun locker; the walls are wood composite.
