Industry Day at the Range is a unique event. Gun industry representatives are able to view, inspect, and shoot scores of new rifles, shotguns, and pistols provided by 200+ manufacturers from around the globe. In addition, new optics and shooting accessories are on display. Hundreds of media members and tech personnel visited the range on 1/19/2026 to test a wide variety of new firearms. There were many notable, innovative new rifles, pistols, and optics on display.
Conditions were good this year, with bright skies and temps in the high 60s. Winds did pick up in the afternoon. Still most of the shooting was at targets inside 50 yards so those breezes didn’t stop the show. It did make it more challenging to hit the longer range rifle targets. Still, media members were excited to see the scores of new rifles, pistols, and shotguns on display. See Range Day Map.

One of the best things about Industry Day at the Range is the FREE Ammo provided by Federal and other manufacturers. Rifle, pistol, shotgun — the ammo is ALL FREE.
We’ve found a dozen great discount/rebate programs. These specials can save you big bucks on rifles, pistols, shotguns, ammo, and shooting accessories. Some of these rebates are worth $100 or more. For example you can get up to $350 off a Beretta Long Gun and save $100 on a Franchi Hunting Rifle. And there’s a $200 credit for a SilencerCo Suppressor. Note: Many of these promos are good through the end of December 2025, but some expire at the end of October 2025 — so check the dates.

Readers in the Rockies region should head to the Colorado Rifle Club (CRC) range on Saturday June 2, 2012, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. There you can try out a variety of Savage rifles from 17 HMR all the way up to a big magnum. All Rimfire ammo is free, and your first five (5) Centerfire rounds per gun are free (except for .338 Lapua Magnum, $5 per round). Can’t beat that. This June 2 “rifle test-ride” at CRC is part of Savage’s Arms Club Program, which lets potential rifle buyers try out target and hunting rifles, both centerfire and rimfire, at no cost.
Savage Arms provides the rifles, Nikon supplies the optics, and Hornady provides free ammo for testing. Caliber options include .17 HMR, .223 Rem, 6.5 Creedmoor, .308 Win, .300 Win Mag and .338 Lapua Magnum. (For the .338 Lapua Magnum, premium Lapua ammo is $5.00 per round). If you have not shot Savage’s F-T/R or Law Enforcement Series rifles, now is your chance. We also recommend Savage’s model 93R17 TR, a .17 HMR rimfire with the look and feel of full-size centerfire rifle. The 93R17 we tested last year was very accurate and we liked the look and feel of the matte-black tactical-style stock.
Directions to Range:
The Colorado Rifle Club range is located at 76099 East 96th Ave., Byers, CO 80103. Byers is 40 miles east of Denver on l-70 at exit 316. To get to the range, travel 8 miles east of Byers on U.S. 36, then about 9 miles north on Leader Road (52N), then one mile west on 96th Ave. to the range gate, then one mile north to the ranges. FNH USA is kicking off the summer with an attractive “free ammo” promotion, designed to spur sales of FNH rifles and pistols. (FNH USA is the sales and marketing arm of FN Herstal, S.A., Belgium.) Here’s the deal: if you purchase selected models of FN rifles, pistols and carbines between June 27 and August 31, 2011, FNH USA will reimburse you up to $150.00 for ammunition purchased at the same time from the same dealer.
Here’s how the FNH “free ammo” deal works. If you buy a new FN FNAR rifle, an FN SCAR™ 16S carbine or an FN FS2000 carbine, you’ll be reimbursed for up to $100.00 in free ammo. If you purchase BOTH a new FN PS90 carbine AND a new FN Five-seveN® pistol and you’ll get up to $150.00 in free ammo.
If you needed a little extra incentive to add an FNH gun to your collection, perhaps this offer will seal the deal. You can even explain to the wife: “…but honey, just think how much money I’m saving on ammo by spending $4k on a rifle.”
If this deal seems attractive, don’t delay — the offer expires August 31, 2011. Visit FNH’s dealer locator to find an FNH USA retail dealer near you and CLICK HERE to learn more about the Free Ammo offer and to download official rebate forms.
