Popular .223, .308 Win, and .30-06 Load Manuals on Sale
MidwayUSA has knocked $1.50 off the prices of LoadBooks reload manuals for three of the most popular centerfire calibers: .223 Rem, .308 Win, and .30-06. As discounted, these manuals now cost $5.49 (regular price $6.99). In addition, the most popular pistol load manuals are also marked down to $5.49 (9mm, .38 Spl, .357 Mag, 40sw, and .45 ACP, .45 Colt).
All of these caliber-specific reloading guides are packed with information from major US bullet- and powder-makers including Accurate, Alliant, Hodgdon, Hornady, IMR, Lyman, Nosler, RCBS, Sierra, Speer and Winchester. LoadBook manuals are printed on heavyweight paper and spiral-bound so they will lay flat on any surface. Most load manuals have about 54 pages. NOTE: since most of these manuals have not been updated within the last 5 years, you won’t find the latest bullet designs or recently-introduced powders such as Hodgdon Hybrid 100V or Alliant Reloder 17.

Even at that very reasonable price it’s a hard sell when all the data is on line supplied by manufacturers.
Editor: Jeff — You raise a good point, but the Hodgdon reloading data center (on the web) won’t tell you about Alliant powders, or Vihtavuori, or Ramshot. And likewise the Alliant website won’t give you info on other brands. It IS handy to have a pre-printed resource that covers loads from a variety of sources, including ALL the powder mfgs. PLUS the bullet-makers. These spiral bound books contain “unabridged” data from many different sources, placing load data for 40-80 powders at your fingertips. The amount of time you save in transferring loads one by one from websites to spreadsheet or notebook is worth the money invested.
Personally, I haven’t used the rifle data books a lot, but I used the pistol data books for .38 Spl, 40SW, and .45 ACP. The .45 ACP manual led me to my favorite powder for that caliber. The .38 Spl book provided low-pressure loads using inexpensive shotgun powder. Such loads work great for Cowboy Action Shooting. I loaded American Select behind 100gr LRNs, and my fellow competitors were constantly amazed how clean my fired brass was, and how little fouling got on my guns. I’m now surprised more pistol shooters don’t explore the use of shotgun powders for low-recoil loads.
I’ve found them very useful and have copies on the .22 Hornet, 7.62 x 39 and the .44 Magnum. I just wish they’d do a combined one covering the 32-20 family: 218 Bee; 25-20; and the 32-20.
Just getting into reloading, so having that much information in one book is worth more than the price of the book. I ordered the 223 and 308.
