Let’s face it, shooting the same bullseye or grid targets over and over again can get boring. Here’s a unique set of Playing Card Targets, courtesy of the NRA. With very cool graphics and a page-filling design, these eye-catching targets can work both indoors and outdoors.
At 100 yards, these are fun scoped rifle targets — you can aim at the small circles or dots on each target. Indoors, with a pistol, just aim for the larger graphic elements, such as the red hearts or black diamonds. If you have access to a color printer, these targets look great.
The NRA Blog published this nice set of super-sized playing card targets. These boast a variety of aiming points (large and small) so they work well for rifles as well as pistols. On the Queen of Diamonds, aim for the large bull-style designs in the “red zone” or aim for the smaller dots on the periphery. For a real challenge, try to shoot each one of the 26 small red diamonds in the curved, central white stripes.
On the Five of Clubs target, you can aim for the smaller club symbols, or shoot for the orange, purple, and green “dripping paint” bulls in the large, central club. The Ace of Spades target offers a colored bullseye in the center, plus a very small bullseye in the letter “C”. That should provide extra challenge for those of you with very accurate rifles. Steyr ATD Pistol and ATC Comp Pistol
Steyr Arms released some impressive pistols at SHOT Show 2026 — the new ATD and ATC models. The ATD is for general defensive use while the ATC models are designed for rapid-fire competition, so the ATCs boast light triggers and steel frames. The ATC comes in three models: ATC Base, ATC Rock with 5″ Barrel and ported slide, and ATC ROCK with with longer 6″ barrel plus ported slide. STEYR ARMS developed the ATC series to meet the stringent requirements of IPSC, PPC (Police Pistol Combat), and USPC (U.S. Practical Shooting) competition. Preventing Double Charges
Tip: Use a bulky powder that fills your case more than half way with a correct charge. This will overfill the case if it is double-charged, making it very difficult to seat a bullet.
Tumble New Brass Before Loading the First Time
Tip: Tumble new pistol cartridge brass in used media for 30 minutes before loading for the first time. This will add enough graphite (carbon residue) to smooth case entry into dies. You can also lube the case mouths with graphite, or use spray lube.
Powder Through Expander — How to Eliminate Hang-ups
Tip: When loading pistol brass with a progressive press, sometime the powder-through expander is hard to remove, especially with short cases. There are two fixes — first, try deburring the inside of the case mouth on your cases. Second, the radius of the powder through expander plug can be modified to smooth entry and exit (see photo). Starline will do this modification for free.

Tikka T3X Ace — Great New Chassis Rifle

FIVE IMPORTANT SAFETY PROCEDURES for Indoor Ranges
1. Follow the Three Fundamental Rules for Safe Gun Handling
ALWAYS keep the gun pointed in a safe direction. ALWAYS keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot. ALWAYS keep the gun unloaded until ready to use.
2. Follow ALL Range Officer Instructions
ROs are the first and final authority on any range and their decisions are generally final. Arguing with a Range Officer may just get you thrown out.
3. Don’t Bother Others or Touch Their Guns
Respect other shooters’ privacy unless a safety issue arises. Do NOT engage other shooters to correct a perceived safety violation unless absolutely necessary – inform the RO instead. NEVER handle or touch another shooter’s firearm without their permission!
4. Know Your Range’s Rules
Review and understand any and all range rules and requirements/expectations. For example, what is the range’s maximum rate of fire? Are you allowed to collect your brass?
5. Know What To Do During a Cease Fire
IMMEDIATELY set down your firearm, pointed downrange, and STEP AWAY from the shooting booth (or bench). Range Officers do not want shooters trying to “secure/unload” their firearms in a cease fire situation — they want the shooters separated from their guns instantly.
BAD RANGE BEHAVIOR — Five Things NOT to Do at the Range
Here are the five worst behaviors we’ve seen at indoor ranges. These behaviors are both dangerous and inconsiderate. Any one of these behaviors can get you permanently banned from an indoor range.
1. Sweeping other individuals after loading a weapon behind the firing line is very bad. All your weapons should be empty until you reach your shooting station.
2. Turning the handgun sideways while trying to clear a malfunction or insert/remove a magazine. This will point the muzzle at a fellow shooter. Or, after shooting a gun, the shooter fails to clear the weapon and then places the gun somewhere near the shooting station with the muzzle in an unsafe position.
3. Reacting unpredictably when firing a high recoil handgun. We’ve seen people take a second shot by accident with the muzzle way off target.
4. Not obeying range commands — in particular continuing to shoot during called cease-fires.
5. Poorly aimed shooting that hits target frames or carriers, causing ricochets.
Double-Up on Hearing Protection When Shooting Indoors
When shooting indoors we recommend quality muffs with earplugs underneath, offering double protection. When inside an enclosed range, with other shooters blasting away right next to you, you really need effective hearing protection. But you also need to hear range commands and be able to communicate. That’s why we recommend electronic muffs with plugs underneath.
For indoor pistol shooting, we like the Howard Leight Impact Pro Muffs. These offer an impressive 30 dB Noise Reduction Rating (NRR). One Pistol, Two Barrels, Two Playing Cards — here’s a trick shot we just had to share. The talented Kirsten Joy Weiss does something we’ve never seen before, splitting TWO (2) playing cards with a unique, twin-barreled 1911-style pistol. Watch the video to see Kirsten pull off this double-barreled doozy of a trick, firing two bullets at the same time.
It took a few tries, but Kirsten makes the shot at the 3:14 time-mark:

New Trends in Suppressors — Elimination of NFA Tax Stamp Fee
Thanks to the Trump Administration, the expensive cost of a Tax Stamp for a Silencer/Suppressor has been eliminated. You still have to fill out paperwork, but suppressors are now MUCH more affordable. The $200 NFA tax stamp for suppressors (silencers) and other items like Short-Barreled Rifles (SBRs) was eliminated effective January 1, 2026, meaning the monetary fee is now $0, but the registration process through the ATF (forms, background checks, fingerprints) remains mandatory. The change significantly lowers the cost barrier to owning these items, making them more accessible, but does not remove them from National Firearms Act (NFA) oversight.
The elimination of NFA fees is creating a huge growth in the suppressor markets. At SHOT Show 2026 several suppressor makers have showcased innovative designs and affordable options. Evolution of SIG Sauer’s M7 Military Rifle — Updates

New High-BC Sierra MatchKings and New GameKing Bullets
Sierra has released a large selection of new match and hunting projectiles. There are new GameKings, 7 new tipped MatchKings, and two impressive new all-metal MatchKings — .22 Cal 77gr and 6mm 105gr. The new 105-grainer MK caught our attention. Sierra claims that its new 105gr MatchKing is the highest BC 105-grain bullet available, delivering an unmatched blend of speed and high BC. Sierra says the new 105gr SMK (non-tipped) offers the BC performance of heavier bullets while maintaining the velocity advantage of a lighter projectile.
Beretta B22 Jaguar .22 LR Pistol
The team at All4Shooters.com spotted a cool new rimfire handgun, the Beretta B22 Jaguar. This new blowback semi-auto handgun is an innovative chassis gun. Controls are ambidextrous and you can even choose left-side or right-side ejection. The mechanical system is Ruger-type, with a bolt that is cocked by operating the two rear serrated ears. The double-stack magazine has a capacity of 15 rounds. The standard B22 Jaguar pistol is priced at $699.00, while the B22 Jaguar Competition, featuring match barrel, compensator, and thumb rest, is $999.00.
