Need a good scope for PRS, hunting, or varminting? Burris just announced a massive discount campaign that can save you hundreds of dollars on a new scope purchase. Incentives range from $500 in savings with the purchase of a Burris Eliminator III laser range-finding riflescope to $180 with the purchase of a Burris Fullfield II and $210 with the purchase of a Fullfield E1.
Burris Eliminator III SALE
The Burris Eliminator III 4-16x50mm smart riflescope is now available for $999, a $500 savings off MAP (Minimum Advertised Price).
The Burris Eliminator III is an advanced electro-optical device that combines magnified optics with a built-in laser rangefinder and micro-processor. With the push of a button, the Eliminator III ranges your target. Then the micro-processor “brain” instantly calculates the required holdover for that distance, and displays a red dot on the reticle. Simply put the red dot on the center of your target and pull the trigger. The Eliminator includes an inclinometer, integrated smart dope card, and rangefinder rated to 1200 yards on reflective objects.
Who Should Use the Eliminator III?
For folks doing high-volume prairie dog and varmint shooting, we like the Burris Eliminator III. Just push a button, and the scope determines the distance to the target, calculates the hold-over, and then displays a red aiming point in the reticle. We have used the Eliminator and it worked well on critter-sized targets out to 600 yards, and deer-sized targets further out. Burt remember, you still have to make the right wind call!
Burris Fullfield Series Optics Discounts
Burris is also offering big discounts on Fullfield II and Fullfield E1 series scopes. You can now save as much as $210.00 or 45% of the original price. The Fullfield II are good hunting optics with 3X zoom range. Fullfield E1 scopes feature ballistic drop compensating reticles. The Burris website states: Savings are available immediately at retail — no rebate paperwork required!” Here are the deals available through December 31, 2019:

The mainstream media hates guns. So you won’t find pro-firearm content on NBC, CBS, CNN, or ABC. Thankfully we have independent cable networks such as the Outdoor Channel. And Wednesday nights are a visual feast for shooting sports enthusiasts.
On Wednesday nights, from 7:30 to 11:30 pm, the Outdoor Channel delivers an entire evening of great gun programming. You can watch FIVE different shows: American Rifleman, Guns & Ammo, GunnyTime, Shooting USA, and Shootout Lane. Here are some popular samples from these shows:
Shooting USA — Understanding Parallax in Scopes This Shooting USA Pro Tip defines parallax and explains how to adjust your scope.
Guns & Ammo TV — Hornady Bullets, Nikon Black Force Scopes, Suppressors 101 This episode reviews multiple products — bullets, optics, and suppressors.
American Rifleman — The Guns of The Vietnam War, Part 3 Major John L. Plaster discusses Marine snipers in Vietnam and their rifles.

3. Amazon — Tipton Ultra Gun Vise, $125.99
Cleaning and working on your guns requires a solid platform. Most gun cleaning stands aren’t adjustable enough, or are too flimsy. Not so the Tipton Ultra Gun Vise. Weighing-in at about 10 pounds, this beefy gun vise provides a steady base. The frame is metal for strength. It features stout adjustable jaws, specialized AR holder, and several accessory trays. Threaded feet allow the vise to be leveled on your bench (or the ground). With this system you can work on just about anything including bolt-action rifles, AR-platform rifles, shotguns, pistols, and even compound bows and crossbows. To fit 3″-wide forearms you may have to remove or modify the front pad(s). Our Deals Editor, who owns this gun vise, reports: “this is a phenomenal vise — the best anybody makes — it is well worth the $125.99″.

The case snaps to either the right or left side of the mat. Interior trays are sized for standard ammo boxes and magazines. Separate compartments hold smaller range gear such as rulers, pens, target markers, and more. When finished, the mat can be rolled and stored neatly and compactly in the case. Buy now for $29.99 at Amazon.
10. Amazon — Browning Steady Ready Stool, $33.00
Portable stools are useful for just about any shooting activity. They are popular with hunters and varminters. They also make life so much easier at matches when you’re spotting for a buddy or team-mate. Though we all know how useful portable seating can be, at matches we still see many fellows asking to borrow a stool or just sitting on the ground. Don’t be that guy — grab one of these easy-to-transport Browning camping stools for under $35.00. It has a durable camo fabric with non-slip seat, and includes an insulated cooler beneath the seat to keep your beverages/lunch cool.
ZEISS has introduced new, intuitive thin-line reticles that allow faster aiming with “smart” hold-overs and hold-offs. The new thin-line ZMOA-T20 and ZMOA-T30 second focal plane (SFP) reticles provide an unobstructed view of the target, while providing MOA-based hold-over lines and wind-hold markers. This allows for fast follow-up shots with corrected windage holds.
On both horizontal and vertical lines there are marks with one MOA spacing, plus MOA reference numbers placed every two MOA. The center cross “floats” to aid ultra-precise shot placement. The small dots located left and right of the main vertical centerline allow the shooter to make windage holds and gauge bullet impacts with confidence. The MOA reference marks and indicators subtend accurately at the riflescope’s highest magnification setting.
The “T20″ and “T30″ codes indicate the MOA “value” of hash marks available below the reticle’s horizontal centerline, i.e. 20 MOA and 30 MOA. The Conquest V4 4-16x44mm boasts the ZMOA-T30 reticle, while the Conquest V4 6-24x50mm model incorporates the ZMOAi-T20 illuminated reticle. On the illuminated ZMOAi-T20 Zeiss scope, the small center cross-hair (shown in red) illuminates for low-light applications.
Now this is smart — ZEISS has just introduced a series of precision scope rings with integral bubble levels. These new ZEISS Ultralight 1913 Mil-Spec Rings for Picatinny Rails are beautifully made, making them a smart choice for mounting all brands of quality riflescopes. The rings are currently offered in 30mm diameter (low, med, high) and 36mm diameter (med, high), with 34mm versions coming out in the very near future.
We like the craftsmanship on these Precision Rings — they are “micro-radiused” on the machined leading edges to ensure a non-marring design. That special design feature helps prevent annoying marks on your expensive scope. Along with the built-in anti-cant levels, these rings feature an integral bottom recoil lug. That helps ensure the rings align perfectly and hold securely even with the high recoil forces generated by big caliber, magnum rifles.
Though these Precision Rings are very strong, they are also relatively light-weight. Crafted from Mil-Spec 7075-T6 aluminum (Type III) these rings weigh just 4.4 ounces with screws for a 30mm low set. For durability, ZEISS UltraLight Rings feature a 30-micron hard, matte black, anodized finish. The ring sets ship with a nice hard case, which includes both T15 and T25 Torx driver bits. The Zeiss Ultralight 30mm Rings cost $179.99 while the larger-diameter 36mm rings cost $199.99
NOTE: These rings are designed for correct, Mil-Spec Picatinny rails (aka MIL-STD-1913 rail or STANAG 2324 rail). Some lower-cost “Weaver-type” rails may not be ideal. ZEISS states: “For optimum performance and flawless mounting, we strongly advise that you mount [these rings] on a high-quality 1913 Mil-Std specification rail[.]”
Many of our Forum members who shoot F-Class and Long Range Benchrest have asked: “Is there a reliable high-magnification zoom scope under $1100?” The answer is yes — the Sightron SIII 10-50x60mm scope will do the job, and you can buy one now for under $1100.00. In fact, at the 2017 IBS 600-yard Nationals, four of the Top 10 shooters (including the 2nd-place finisher) used Sightron 10-50x60mm scopes. This quality 10-50x60mm optic is definitely good enough to win long-range benchrest and F-Class matches. Here is a review by James Mock. Note James tested a version with 1/4-MOA clicks. Sightron also offers versions of this scope with 1/8-MOA clicks.
Sightron 10-50x60mm Riflescope Field Test Review by James Mock
Mr. Allen Orr of Sightron was kind enough to loan me one of their fine SIII riflescopes for testing. Since I shoot 600-yard score matches more than anything else, I requested the 10-50x60mm model with MOA-2 reticle. This is a premium scope in every way and it may be the very best buy for a long range scope today. Real world price for this scope is around $1100 ($1089.99 on Amazon.com). This represents a good value considering the scope’s build quality and features: 50X max magnification, 1/4-MOA adjustments with 10 MOA per revolution, ExactTrack windage and elevation system, Zack-7 lens coating, 60mm objective lens, target knobs with zero stop, and lifetime warranty. The MOA-2 reticle’s hash marks span 2 MOA at 24X and 1 MOA at 48X. Eye Relief is ample: 4.5″ at 10X and 3.8″ at 50X. Field of view at 100 yards is 9.6′ at 10X, 2.2′ at 50X.
NOTE: Sightron also offers this scope with 1/8-MOA clicks with a Fine Cross-Hair Reticle, Target Dot Reticle, and Mil-Dot Reticle. There are also multiple Sightron SIII 10-50x60mm models with illuminated reticles.
Sightron SIII 10-50x60mm Shows Excellent Repeatability
After receiving the scope, I mounted it on my BAT 6mm Dasher and did my “standard tests”. I shot the “square” and the adjustments were spot on and the repeatability was faultless. I also shot a group at two powers (24X and 50X) and the point of impact was the same.
In our August 600-yard match, I used the scope and was favorably impressed. I did not have the opportunity to shoot 600 yards prior to the match but I do have a 100-meter range at my house. From past experience, after zeroing my Dasher at 100 I simply dial up 11 MOA to shoot at 600 yards. The weather in Louisiana has been something that I have never seen before and the August 20th match was moved to August 27th, but there was still standing water in front of the targets. Also, the fog was so heavy that the start of the match was delayed for 45 minutes.
Sightron Nails a 50 Score on First-ever Match Target
When the match started, the Sightron with 11 MOA dialed in was perfect for elevation and a little right. After a couple of clicks I was ready to shoot. My first target was a pleasant surprise — scoring a 50-1X. I was very impressed with this scope and I shot it at 48X all day in the heavy mirage. I ended up finishing third, two points behind the winner.
This video is from Europe, but it does a good job explaining the 10-50x60mm Sightron’s features:
With its 60mm objective lens, this is a large scope. It is 16.9″ long and weighs 30.1 ounces. If you can tolerate that weight in the discipline you shoot this scope represents a great value for the long-range shooter. I am favorably impressed with it. For you varmint shooters, this scope with its wide range of power would make a superb addition to you favorite prairie dog rig. Do note, as we explained above, there are other versions of this scope with 1/8-MOA clicks if that is your preference. Good shooting — James Mock

Shiraz tells us: “For those of you who shoot the Norma .284 Win F-Class brass, this is an amazing deal — well below cost. This is the last from the original Bullets.com lot. If you bought some of the original Norma .284 Win brass, this is the same lot.” NOTE: Quantities are limited — grab it while you can!!
