If you buy loaded ammo and your cartridge is included, should be a great time saver.
Caution…if you do a price sort, watch the results closely for errors. I checked on 50 BMG ammo and they had some listed at $2 ea. When I drilled down the qty/box was wrong and the price was actually $4 ea. They also had a 50 cal muzzleloader round mixed it – the description shown on their site actually includes the text “muzzleloading” and no “50 BMG” or “50BMG”. [I sent them a message thru their contact page.]
The caution noted, the site is clearly identified as being a beta.
If you are interested in 338 LM brass, caution. I selected “by brand” and under Lapua there were multiple 338 LM listings that were actually NOT Lapua brand. They were either clearly identified as being Nosler or Hornady in the description or they had no “brand” in the description but when you go to the linked site they offering is not Lapua brand.
Again, this site is in beta but shows a lot of promise.
GunBot.net can be helpful, but it’s very buggy. I’ve been using it for over three months, and have been successful with most purchases. I leave it open all day with the alarm (siren) set to notify when prices reach a certain point. Many times a day I get false notifications that take me to out-of-stock product pages, even though I visit the page within one second of the alert. Still useful, but the false alarms are annoying.
These scans are pretty much scalper prices rather then the competition shooter supple houses. . Try a find search like this one.

The ‘find” site is nothing compared to the gunbot site if you are looking for reloading components. I did searches on “338 Lapua Magnum brass” and “338 Lapua Magnum cases” and received about 30-40 results per search. NONE of them was for Lapua brand brass – the ONLY “brass/cases” listed (about 8-10% of the results) were for Nosler. Ammo maybe, I did not do a comparison on ammo.
A better bet would be to use http://ammoseek.com/. I’ve had much better luck finding deals through them, and they seem much more accurate. And I think they search quite a few more sites too.
Editor: We’ve also recently recommended Ammoseek.com in the Bulletin. A savvy shopper will use both sites. GunBot searches many sources not covered by Ammoseek, and vice versa. At the time we searched, the very best deal on rimfire ammo was Gander Mountain at five cents a round. GunBot found that, Ammoseek did not. But they are booth good, effective search tools.
I’m not associated with AmmoSeek but I saw that 0.05/rd from Gander mountain too, but it was listed as “out of stock” and i believe the AmmoSeek guys list only stuff that’s in stock. Nobody is really selling 22LR for 4 and 5 cents per rounds these days!
Crazy scalper prices that I wont be a part of. Deal with the real competitive shooter company’s and the prices, when they get it in haven’t changed much. We have been getting SK target plus for 430.00 a case ect. I believe the gander mt. thing is just a ploy to get ya to check out the site then anything under .10 is sold out. When they dont even list companys like midway, CC or brownells ect. that a red flag right there.
Sir:
What crazy “scalper” pries? Sort by price with “view in-stock only” selected (the default).
And they do include Midway and Brownells/Sinclair in their searches – but the product MUST be in stock or they are not listed (with the noted default setting of “view in-stock only”. Check the listings under “rifle” ammo.
I just checked Midway under 22LR and they have only 6 “mixed availability” vs almost 150 SKUs.
This site and AmmoSeek are both well worth checking.

Sez “powder” – Ain’t no powder listed nowhere!!
Editor says: There are actually many powder for sale listings. From the GunBot.Net home page, click the “Reloading” link, then click on powder. Here are results for today:

What scalper prices,,, .13 cents a round and up for junk ammo…ya id call that scalper prices.
I actually did find the powder search interesting.
Another great website to locate in stock ammo is http://www.wikiarms.com (formerly known as AmmoEngine). They have email alerts that work great.
