Here’s a great deal if you’re shooping for hunting gear, shooting supplies, or holiday gifts (yep, the Christmas shopping season has already started). Cabelas.com is now offering $30.00 off a puchase of $150.00 or more. This is a bonafied offer, not a sales gimmick. This Editor just purchased a pair of Cabela’s boots listed at $153.99, and I got $30.00 off the purchase price, for a net cost (before shipping) of $123.99.
How does it work? Click the promo link above. That takes you to a page where you type in your email address. Then you’ll receive an email with a Rebate Number and a “Cabela’s Bucks Code”. Fill in the rebate number and the Bucks Code during “check-out” of the online ordering process. You can also use these discount codes when ordering by phone or at a Cabela’s store.
Offer Expires November 17, 2009
NOTE: The $30.00 off promo expires at 11:59 pm on 11/17/2009. Also the offer may only be used once, and it is valid ONLY on merchandise — it can NOT be used for Gift Certificates.

Natchez Shooters Supplies currently has the RCBS ChargeMaster 1500 Scale and Dispenser combo (item RC98923) on sale for just $279.95, a very good price. These units have become increasingly popular over the past couple of years. Now even some short-range benchresters are weighing their loads with RCBS ChargeMasters. When these units are set up correctly (i.e. level in all planes) and kept away from wind drafts or electrical interference, they work very well. After acquiring his ChargeMaster earlier this year, Jason Baney, our assistant editor, told us: “Man, I wish I had this thing years ago… it probably cuts my reloading time in half.”

The NRA is looking to expand the ranks of Certified Firearms Instructors. And no, you’re not expected to become an instructor just for the glory, or for the simple joy of teaching. There are some real benefits to be had….
NRA Certified Instructors receive discounts from some of the leading companies in the shooting sports industry. Aimpoint, Beretta, Blackhawk, and Crimson Trace are just a few of the companies that provide special offers to NRA Certified Instructors.
The NRA Training Department lists discounts and promotions for Certified Instructors on the web. You can also find special offers in the latest issue of the Shooting Education Update, a PDF-format e-zine you can download.

Here’s a good deal for 50-Caliber shooters. Right now MidwayUSA has 650gr (0.510 diam.) Winchester FMJ bullets on sale. You can get a bulk pack of 420 bullets for just $308.90 (roughly $.74/bullet). That’s $91.09 off the regular $399.99 price, making this a real bargain. NOTE: These are new production overrun bullets that would otherwise be loaded in U.S. military M33 ammunition. The 650-grain full metal boat tail design features a copper jacket with cannelure over a steel insert and lead core. Limited quantities are available so you may want to act soon.

MidwayUSA has a sweet deal on Caldwell self-adhesive “orange peel” targets. Regularly priced at $16.99, this 50-sheet target pack is now just $6.99. That’s 61% off, a huge savings. NOTE: These are factory seconds so there may be small blemishes.
We’ve used these targets with both iron sights and scoped rifles and they work great. The 5.5″ bull is easy to see at 600 yards with a scope, and the contrasting yellow hit circles are highly visible at long range. For iron sights shooters, the 5.5″ black circle is a good size for 100-yard practice. (Note that the NRA official MR-31 100-yard High Power target has a 5.75″ bull.) And, when shooting offhand at 50 yards using a rimfire lever rifle with buckhorn sights, this target was just about ideal — not too big, not too small.
