Seen at SHOT: Schmidt & Bender Star Wars Edition PM II Scope
Our friend Vu Pham found this Star Wars “Imperial Storm Trooper” white-finish 5-25x56mm PM II scope at the Schmidt & Bender booth at SHOT Show 2014 in Las Vegas.
We think it looks kind of classy, but we wonder if Schmidt & Bender plans to provide a full set of matching accessories. You know, white plastic breast-plate, shin-guards, and, of course, an Imperial Storm Trooper helmet. This white-finish scope definitely aspires to be tacti-cool, but we do wonder how many buyers would really want such a thing.

I think it’s pretty cool. If nothing else, it alludes to a precision laboratory instrument and as such, would seem fitting for a precision firing instrument.
Lets not forget that Germany gets more than a little snow-seems a good way of selling more scopes to me.
If AI can have a Arctic Warfare (AW) rifle, why not a scope for it?
Cute!! But my first priority is quality and, while Schmidt and Bender certainly make some of the best scopes available, I’d rather they spent their time on improved performance (everything can be made better) rather than designer packaging. Unless I’m hunting in snow and risk being discovered by the wary game because my scope in a darker color, the white packaging has no real value.
This is a sniper scope, not a sporting toy.No surprise it is available with winter or mountain warfare in mind.
Very nice. Canon still makes a lot of their high end telephoto and super telephoto lenses with a white finish. Makes sense if you think how hot a black lens or scope can get in strong sunlight.
Ummm…maybe for hunting predators in winter?
…or hunting two legged predators in climates or elevations where snow is likely?
Tape does the same thing. So does a scope wrap.
I look at that picture and all I see is the 1-8x short-dot is labeled 1.5-8x short-dot. Have they changed it? Any real word on release date?
Nice scope but, star wars? Oh boy.
when it comes to quality, Schmidt and Bender is Tier 1, there is no better, next in line is Steiner, then US Optics, then toss up between night force and vortex on the high end tactical models. I know the paper shooters like night force or march, I’m strictly talking about tactical scope that you can depend your life on.
Exactly what I have been looking for
