How can I acquire this series of videos that Ruger has sponsored?
Maybe it’s mere pedantry, but the diagram of the parts of a flintlock doesn’t seem correct to me. I take the word “hammer” to refer to the part on a percussion gun equivalent to the “cock” of a flintlock. The cock of a flintlock doesn’t “hammer” anything -the flint, which after all is merely clamped between the jaws of the dog and is therefore not of a piece with the cock, strikes the steel obliquely-, whereas the hammer of a percussion has a flat face that descends squarely on the cap and is therefore justly named.
Needs a bit of editing to remove repetitions, and possibly a few corrections…
oh did I mention repetitions?
