Shooters’ Ridge Snap-N-Pull™ Cleaning Kit
Bargain Cave Item OG-229078
Reg: $24.99 | Sale Price: $9.88

This pull-through Cleaning Kit is available in .22-6mm or .270-.308 sizes for under ten bucks, including jags, brushes, bore mops, and pull-cable with handle. It is a good “field expedient” cleaning system for hunters or tactical shooters who can’t carry a full-length cleaning rod or bore guide. This system works pretty good, just be careful when you pull the metal snap-connectors out the muzzle. As with any pull-cord-type cleaning product, you want to pull straight out the muzzle — NOT at an angle. CLICK HERE to watch Cleaning Kit product video.

It is compact (6″ open or 4″ fully folded) and weighs just 8 ounces. On sale at just $34.88, it is half the price of an equivalent Leatherman tool.
Stoney Point Steady Stix™ II Shooting Sticks
Bargain Cave Item OG-222262
Reg: $37.99 | Sale: $22.88

Stoney Point’s Steady Stix™ are a very useful accessory for hunters and varminters. The lightweight but strong aluminum legs fold to 14″ for transport, assemble to 39″ with internal shock-cord system. The sale item is black, and includes a carry-sheath that fits to your belt. NOTE: These are designed for sitting or kneeling — they aren’t tall enough for standing shots.
Columbia River M18 Knife
Bargain Cave Item OG-518690
Reg: $39.99 | Sale: $19.88
This Editor has been very impressed with every Columbia River (CRKT) edged tool he’s tried. Build quality is high and the blades are strong and hold their edge. This M18 Carson knife features a 3.63″ AUS8 steel clip-point blade with Teflon® bearings at the blade pivot. The handle is hard-anodized T6 aluminum with black G10-type inlays. The M18 features Kit Carson signature touches such as the 180° circular pivot with dual thumb studs, and the “Carson Flipper” which speeds opening. This is a very nice knife for the money. You’ll find it elsewhere for up to $60.00. You may want to jump on this deal. I just bought FIVE of these, one for myself and four as Xmas gifts. Please watch the video for a detailed review, and an explanation of the locking system!

Meopta is not a well-known name in the North American market, but we predict that may change in the near future. Meopta, a leading optics maker in the Czech Republic, makes optical components for many of the most respected “big name” companies in the business. With Meopta’s introduction of its 75mm APO (apochromatic) spotting scope, Meopta has served notice that it can build a scope that rivals far more expensive optics. We tried one out at the NRA meeting in Phoenix, and we’re very impressed from what we could see. The image is very sharp. Eye relief with a 20-60 zoom eyepiece is good. We liked the large full-diameter focus ring in the center of the scope body. Swarovski uses a similar central focus ring on its ATS line of scopes, and we’ve always found this to be a user-friendly design.

The Meopta 75mm APO spotting scope retails for up to $1449.00 at various online optics and camera houses. However, at the NRA Convention, Alex Roy of EuroOptic.com offered a spectacular offer to AccurateShooter.com readers. For a limited time, while supplies last, EuroOptic.com will sell the Meopta 75mm APO complete with 20-60X zoom eyepiece for just $1175.00, including a free compact tripod. That’s a true bargain. This is a very nice spotting scope that compares well to other European and Japanese spotting scopes costing much, much more. From what we can tell, the Meopta is also the most economical option for folks seeking a 72mm+ objective and APO glass. Watch the video below for more details of this special offer. NOTE: The offer is limited to stock in hand. (Don’t complain to us if you procrastinate and miss out on this bargain.)

Our south-paw shooters often complain that nice “previously owned” benchrest rifles are hard to find. We’ll we spotted a beauty on Gunbroker.com, Auction #128642607. It sports a Nesika Model J Left-Bolt, Left-port action in a gorgeous, laminated red cedar stock with hardwood fore-end tip and polished aluminum buttplate. We believe this rifle was built by Richard Franklin of Richards Custom Rifles, a well-known accuracy smith, and the rifle looks to be pillar-bedded. The barrel is a LV-contour, 22″ Krieger, 1:14″ twist, chambered in 6 PPC with a .261″ neck. Total weight is 10.4 lbs. with a Leupold scope so you can shoot it in either Light Varmint or Heavy Varmint class. This 6PPC has seen very little use and appears flawless in the photos. The seller claims the rifle has been “test-fired only” and that the bore is pristine.

CLICK HERE for Cedar 6 PPC on Gunbroker.com (Many more photos).
Auction starting price is $1699.00 with no reserve. The auction closes on Sunday, May 17 at 11:39 am Eastern Time. So far, this gun has been “off the radar” so there has been just one bid. But hopefully one of our southpaw shooters will pick up a beautiful rifle for easily $1300.00 less than it cost new. (Note: Scope is NOT included in auction.) Yes we know a fiberglass-stocked gun would probably shoot as well… but that wood is a feast for the eyes.

Leica Rangemaster CRF 1200 Rangefinder
Item: QZ-712561
Reg: $699.99
Sale: $599.00

You probably already know that Leica’s CRF 1200 is a top-of-the-line laser rangefinder, rivaled only by the $999.00 Swarovski LaserGuide and, maybe, by the new $699.00 Zeiss Victory PRF. Among these three units, the Leica is the most compact by far. And, now, it is the least expensive. NOTE: You can also buy the Leica CRF 1200 from Amazon.com for $599.00 with FREE Shipping by clicking the special link below:

Cabela’s Covered Loading Tray
Item: XJ-215760
Reg: $14.99
Sale: $12.99

When we first saw this product we thought: “Great idea… it’s amazing nobody else has offered a covered loading tray before”. Being able to cover your loading tray makes sense. With the cover in place, you can’t inadvertantly drop something into the tray, or knock over cases filled with powder. You can also keep loaded rounds protected from the elements before they’re packed into ammo carriers.
Buck Knives Transport™ Key Chain Knife
Item: 9IS-519169
Reg: $20.99
Sale: $11.99

We really like this little knife. Folded it is tiny, and weighs just 1 ounce! The 1.25″ blade is long enough to handle most typical cutting chores (opening box-tops, cutting tape, trimming cords). It even comes with a bottle opener and a sturdy lanyard attachment.

Here’s a sweet deal for you game hunters out there. Cabela’s is offering a FREE Garmin eTrex hand-held GPS with the purchase of a 3-9x40mm Burris Fullfield II scope. Total cost: $189.88. Typical “street price” for the 3-9×40 Fullfield II Rifle Scope by itself is $209.95, while the Garmin eTrex retails for $99.00 by itself. So, if you subtract the value of the GPS, you’re getting the Burris scope for about 90 bucks. Not bad for a scope with fully-coated lenses and the Burris No-BS “Forever” warranty. Here’s what one Cabela’s buyer said: “Great price for a scope and a free GPS. I have no problems recommending this scope it is a good quality scope with clear optics. The GPS is first generation without the features most people want but it will get you home if you are lost.”

The Garmin eTrex GPS is considered a rugged classic. It is compact and light weight at mere 5.3 ounces with batteries, with the buttons positioned on the side for easy, one handed operation. The casing is rugged and waterproof to IPX-7 standards. The eTrex will operate for about 15 hours on two AA batteries.

There are some great deals among the May Specials at Midsouth Shooters Supply.

Browning 15″ Bull’s Bag — This bag, an “X”-type front sandbag similar to the popular Uncle Bud’s bag, is on close-out for just $24.99 (sand not included). Choose from Black/Yellow (item 237-16022), or Black/Mossy Oak Camo (237-16024). This is a great deal. An Uncle Bud’s Bull’s Bag normally runs about $49.00.
Caldwell “Rock” Competition Model Front Rest — Midsouth has the “RocK” Comp Model on sale for $149.99. While many “Rock” owners end up replacing the front bag, this unit is a surprisingly good front rest for the money. With a 15.5-lb cast-iron “slingshot” base similar to the Bald Eagle design, the Caldwell Rock is very stable. The captain’s wheel works fine for elevation adjustments. Windage adjustment is less than ideal, as a threaded shaft rotates the whole head to adjust windage, rather than sliding the head back and forth in a straight line. Yes, at the extremes of adjustment, that can cause some binding, but most of the time it works just fine.
Smart Reloader Kinetic (Impact) Bullet Puller — Midsouth has its “house-brand” hammer-style bullet puller on sale for just $11.13. This unit is virtually identical to “name-brand” bullet pullers sold for up to $20.00. The unit comes complete with three, o-ring-secured collets (small, med, large) that will work with just about any cartridge… from 22 Hornet to 45/70.

Forum Member Boyd Allen discovered that MidwayUSA is offering great prices on some high-quality Berger Match bullets. MidwayUSA has 6mm Berger 68gr FB Match hollowpoints, product 584518, on sale for just $20.19 per hundred. These are outstanding bullets. I have personally witnessed seven successive 5-shot groups shot with these bullets (at 100 yards) from a 6PPC and the average group size was less than 0.180″. Six out of seven groups were under 0.200″. Will you get that kind of accuracy? We certainly won’t make any promises. But we were mightily impressed with the Berger 68s we tried… they shot every bit as well as more expensive “boutique” bullets in a Shilen-barreled 6PPC built by Ron Hoehn.
Midway is also discounting ($2.30 off retail) Berger’s 35gr FB 20-caliber varmint bullets, MidwayUSA item 584073. These bullets shoot great in .204 Ruger, 20 Vartarg, or 20-223 (aka 20 Practical) varmint rifles. They have very low recoil but expand explosively on small varmints. The current sale price, good through the end of May, 2009, is $20.19 per 100-count box.

If you’re looking for a 1″-diameter scope for hunting, varminting, or general paper-punching, Zeiss makes some of the best available. The less expensive Conquest line of riflescopes have impressed us with their very clear, sharp glass, and excellent controls. Unfortunately, Zeiss Conquest prices have climbed in recent years. For example, the excellent Conquest 6-20x50mm retails for nearly $200 more than it did originally.
You can’t go back in time, but MidwayUSA is offering refurbished Zeiss Conquest scopes at big savings off regular prices. These scopes all feature etched reticles and rugged 1-piece main body tubes. Here are some of the deals currently offered on Zeiss “Certified Refurbished” scopes (with full factory warranties):
Zeiss MC Conquest 3-9x50mm, Matte, Z-Plex Reticle
Product #: 151785 | Price: $479.99 Sale ($120.00 off retail)
Zeiss MC Conquest 3.5-10x50mm, Matte, Rapid Z-600 Reticle

Product #: 145597 | Price: $799.99 Sale ($200.00 off retail)

Winchester 22LR Sporter — $189.99
Looking for a “first rifle” for a young family member? This little Winchester could fit the bill. A friend of ours recently purchased one for his nephew and it’s proven to be a very nice little rifle for the money. NOTE: In the catalog pages the price is listed as $179.99, but the current price is $189.99. That’s still a great deal, and the price includes four magazines.

FN Patrol .308 (with box mag) — $599.00
If you’re looking for a good basic .308 Win rifle for hunting or tactical matches, the FN Patrol is a great value at $599.00. This rifle comes with a Hogue synthetic stock with full-length aluminum bedding block and dual front sling swivels. The action is fitting with a mil-spec Picatinny scope rail on top, and a 4-round detachable box magazine (DBM) is provided. You can select from four different barrel lengths: 18″, 20″, 22″, and 24″. We recommend the 24″ for tac matches. Hunters may prefer a shorter tube to save weight. If you prefer to mount a custom barrel or stock, CDNN is offering FN SPR short actions for just $349.00. This includes trigger group (with safety), Picatinny Rail on top, bottom metal, recoil lug, AND the 4-round box magazine. If you’re looking to build a low-cost custom tactical rig, this could be a great way to go.
