WallyWorld Advertising — What’s Wrong with this Picture?
Below is the top half of a Walmart ad intended to sell hunting rifles and accessories. We’re pleased that Walmart still stocks guns, ammo, and gear on its shelves. But look carefully at the fellow in the tree-stand. He’s got some nice camo clothing, but a few items are missing that might help this hunter in his quest to take home a buck. Apparently Walmart’s ad-makers aren’t too experienced with shooting.

No sights or scope
I am shure I would not hit anything with out sights on my rifle–maybe wound or injure an animale—no sights on rifle–might as well throw the bullets
It is called point shooting, you dont need sights or a scope. lmao
Um, the rifle sports the latest in firearms technology – an invisible scope.Wally World would also sell you hunting clothing that makes you invisible, but they can’t because of the Blaze Orange requirement.
Rifle without scope.
No hunter orange.
I don’t see a safety harness for the tree stand.
No safety glasses.
No hearing protection.
Finger might be on trigger???
It doesn’t look like he’s tied off (fall saftey) but he might be.
Score one for the wildlife. Good thing that’s not a semi-auto he has up there… he’d be tossing off rounds all the way to the ground otherwise.
This is what happens when companies hire new graduates for marketing ads. Art director probably somewhere in China or India too….
Wow Tim, are you serious? Hunter orange isn’t required everywhere. Not sure how many people hunt with safety glasses and hearing protection. If the gun is up and he’s ready to shoot (as is trying to be depicted in the ad), finger on the trigger would be required to actually shoot. The ad is dumb enough without sights or scope regardless of trying to make it comply with OSHA standards.
Hah! Walmart fooled us all!
The camo and ARD on that new, soon to be announced scope is just that good!
maybe they are more experienced then we think. kind of what gary is talking about above!
You all missed it. There is a drop down peep sight hanging inside the brim of his hat, he just fired an arrow from his co2 powered Fred Bear limited edition arrow rifle.
Oh, and no safety glasses, hearing protection, mouth guard, steel toe shoes or 406MHZ emergency locating transmitter.
This is the prototype Mk 1 stealth rifle with the invisible non reflective sight. The Mk 2 will be totally invisible and will feature an electronic ring tone so that the operator can whistle it up to find its location.
Yer all missin’ the point.
“Save Money. Live Better”, it says.
Think how much he saved by leavin’ off the scope and mounts.
Well, you have bare-bow archery….
Instinctive Shooting??? lol
well lets not ding them too much, they might “bank of america” us.
He’s obviously shooting those new laser guided bullets developed by Sandia Laboratories.
We should all be happy they are even selling firearms!!!!!!!
Im in CA, and WM already played abandon ship here. We had alot of trouble last 2-3 years getting ammo, espically rimfire. Walmart customer service is pretty worthless.
…why…he’s one of them,there instinctive shooters!!…lol…
Bob, hunter orange is not a OSHA requiremnet. Its just good sense to be seen and not gut shot
