Pre-Owned Rimfire Match Rifles at MT Guns
Are you a rimfire shooter looking for an Anschütz action (or barreled action) to use in an after-market benchrest, silhouette, or prone stock (such as the new Elesio AN-1)? You can spend weeks watching the auction boards, or you can save time and money by just giving Mac Tilton a call at his shop in California.
Mac, owner of MTGuns.com, has hundreds of “previously owned” rimfire rifles in inventory, including scores of Anschütz models. Most have model 54 or 64 actions–he rarely gets the 2000-series barrel-block-style actions. But you can certainly build a match-winning rifle from a Model 54. Mac also stocks many BSA Martini and Walther match rifles. Our friend Joe F. recently picked up a used Suhl 150-1 from Mac. This editor has shot that gun and it is amazingly accurate, with a fantastic trigger. (Unfortunately, Mac has only a couple Suhls left.)
Big Shipment Just Arrived from Europe
Mac has just taken delivery of 150 rifles from Europe. Among this batch are a couple dozen 20-year-old Anschütz prone rifles that are essentially “as new”, still “in the wrap”. The rest of the shipment are mostly single-shot Anschütz prone or position rifles, but there will be some other brands in the mix. For more info, call Mac at (805) 720-7720, from 9 am to 5 pm, Pacific Time.
I am a new rimfire shooter and am interested in an used Anschutz 54 for bench rest shooting. Again I am new to rimfire but am up in age and will probably not compete except against myself.
Any help will be appreciated
Fred

Hi, Mac!
Hope you have a good tiem in Penn. and get to whack some gray & fox squirrels. (About all we have is the tiny pine/red squirrels
I have decided that for ME, the Martini wiht it’s better casehead support, postive extraction, fast lock-time (and CLASS is what I would most enjoy ownig and shootign.
Please keep an eye peeled for an INt’l. MkII for me.
Won’t need iron sights* and if it needs to be re-barrled I have been experimentign wiht fster than 1:16″ twists and think there is some potential.
ALways great to talk to you! (I learn things every time!
*re. Iron sights and older eyes w/catarct and retinal damage: A reall good friend of mine, and a “hard-holder” w/ both pistol & rifle commented on “iron sight only” matches, “Why don’t they just put up an eye chart and whoever can red the smallest pring is decleared ‘match winner’ ?”
Shooting is still a great deal of fun, as long as it is not a complete waste of ammo.(ANd at this stage, that pretty much means glass sights.)
I have got into legally registered suppressors and had a great deal of fun shooting a mere 3 marmots w/CCI Sub-Sonic H.P.s (3 hits, 3 marmots
Still hoping for 5 & 10 shot Izmash WMR mags.
All the best!

I have an Anschutz model 64, that is missing a bolt. I am told that they may have to be fitted to each rifle individually. Is this a fact? and if so, can you help me? I used this gun in competition as a Boy Scout, and somehow, in travel the bolt has been lost. I would like to have a complete firearm as a family heirloom. Thank you, Steve. Phone# 508-252-4314
I am looking for a left hand .22 Anschutz target rifle with sights.

All – Mac has transferred most of his remaining inventory to Mark Chesebro, of ChesebroRifles.com. I bought an Anschutz 1811 prone rifle from him in March of this year. He’s a solid guy to deal with, and I wouldn’t hesitate to buy from him again.

I am looking for an Anschutz 54 action with bolt and adjustable match trigger in very good condition for a project. If barrel, sights, stock are attached that is OK. Ideal would be a 2013, but that is asking a lot. An older complete action or rifle with little use would be acceptable. Dave Lee recommended you for this. Jim Storm 415-921-3840

I am looking for an Anshutz 22lr with a model 54 action. It must be a repeater as it will be used for small bore silhouette. A rifle ready to use as is for silhouette is desired but not mandatory. I am a licensed gunsmith and can do modifications if necessary. Looking forward to hearing from you.
