Bank of America Tells McMillan Group to Find Another Banker
Apparently Bank of America is no longer willing to provide banking services to McMillan Group Int’l, LLC (McMillan), a leading maker of gunstocks and an important supplier of stocks, rifles, and other hardware to our U.S. Armed Forces. Apparently it is not good enough that McMillan builds products used by our troops to safeguard our freedoms.
Here’s what went down. In the course of an “account analysis”, a Senior VP of Bank of America (BofA) confirmed that BofA wished to cease doing business with McMillan because the Arizona-based company now builds rifles, not just stocks and accessories. The details of the fall-out between BofA and McMillan were outlined April 19 in a post by Kelly McMillan on McMillan’s Facebook page.
HERE is the Text of McMillan’s Announcement Regarding Bank of America:
McMillan Fiberglass Stocks, McMillan Firearms Manufacturing, McMillan Group International have been collectively banking with Bank of America for 12 years. Today Mr. Ray F., Senior Vice President, Market Manager, Business Banking, Global Commercial Banking came to my office. He scheduled the meeting as an “account analysis” meeting in order to evaluate the two lines of credit we have with them. He spent 5 minutes talking about how McMillan has changed in the last 5 years and have become more of a firearms manufacturer than a supplier of accessories.
At this point I interrupted him and asked “Can I possibly save you some time so that you don’t waste your breath? What you are going to tell me is that because we are in the firearms manufacturing business you no longer want my business.”
“That is correct” he says.
I replied “That is okay, we will move our accounts as soon as possible. We can find a 2nd Amendment friendly bank that will be glad to have our business. You won’t mind if I tell the NRA, SCI and everyone one I know that BofA is not firearms industry friendly?”
“You have to do what you must” he said.
“So you are telling me this is a politically-motivated decision, is that right?”
Mr. F. confirmed that it was. At which point I told him that the meeting was over and there was nothing left for him to say.
I think it is import[ant] for all Americans who believe in and support our 2nd Amendment right to keep and bear arms should know when a business does not support these rights. What you do with that knowledge is up to you. When I don’t agree with a business’ political position I can not in good conscience support them. We will soon no longer be accepting Bank of America credit cards as payment for our products.

Commentary: The LAST thing Bank of America should be doing right now is terminating relationships with important, long-standing business customers. Because of a series of billion-dollar blunders by Bank of America executives, the company has suffered major financial losses and write-offs, and it was forced to sell off important assets. Reflecting the bank’s poor management, Bank of America share values declined 58% in 2011. That made BofA the “worst-performing stock in the 30-member Dow Jones Industrials Index” last year according to DailyFinance.com.

My husband is a big hunter and fisherman. I had no idea this situation was going on until I just spoke to my sister.
The current administration in Washington DC is going so fast into dictatorship and we are slowly sinking right into it. I don’t know how the american public cannot see it.
It’s bad enough to have our freedom of choice taken away, starting with the healthcare, but to have major companies like Bank of America supporting these issues ..well, it’s just blows my mind. If we continue to do business with these supporting companies who are being governed by the Obama administration, then we are enabling them to take away what freedom we have left. Folk, we need to stand together if we are going to continue to be a strong nation..remember, there is strength in numbers.
Just as soon as I can open an account with a non-political bank, I will cancel both credit cards with Bank of America. Shame of these folks…pray for the employees who don’t know how bad their company really is..and could eventually lose their jobs if the business is not there.
This is just one more example as to why this country needs to get together and PRAY!!!!!
That does it for me with B of A. They should remove America from thier name. They also give credit to illegal immigrants. I will no longer have anything to do with B of A in anyway.
I cancelled my MasterCard account that I have held with them for over 20 years. They guy had the audacity to tell me how badly this was going to effect my credit score. Like I need $23,000 in credit. Please.
I do not have any accounts with Bank of America, but, if I did, I would sever that association. All the others have expressed my feelings, as a Veteran. I will boycot that company. They have shown their ‘True Colors !! Joe Kassen.
This just came to my attention aas a vetteran and a staunch supported of the 2nd amendment I will closing all my B of A accounts ASAP. I have done business with these anti american SOB’s for over 20 years –NO MORE!!!!
Don’t just sit on your b… complaining about this! Call your congressman, call your union and call your bank even if it’s not BofA, let your banker know if he had the funny idea to imitate Citicorp and BofA, that would be it and you’d no longer do business with dictator’s accomplices.
Quote:” A LOT of banks clearly document that they will refuse to do business with anyone that does anything with the sale or distribution of arms (small or large). HSBC is a good example. Policies like this are not new.”
I wonder whether there’s a bank that actually refuses to finance the porn industry or foreign liberation movements (read terrorists)or oil drilling in Burma or Iran.
And we’re supposed to be the ones to be ashamed?
Good news! Bank of America just decided on some important changes. Sort of.

Bravo!!
Thank you for standing up to these un-American giants!!
Perhaps they just don’t want their abused homeowners and “customers” owning guns!
BofA has been and will always been a bank full of themselves!
IE: We here at Bank of America, DON’T make Mistake’s. That ended my banking with them back in the early 70’s. Then they “needed” to give money and home loan’s to “Illegal’s”, Helped the Breakdown of the housing, Construction Ind. A large part of the Banking Failure’s. A very Large member of the FDIC and IMF,World Banking system. Fuvk the B of A!
Naturally gun owners are incensed, as am I. But I’ve had a longstanding dislike for B of A. It’s an AWFUL bank — always has been. We had quite a row years ago — they “done me wrong.”
Bad idea, B of A. As a result, I very publicly kicked Bank of America’s butt from San Diego to San Francisco. I gave them hundreds of thousands of dollars of bad publicity.
Payback’s a bitch, as B of A found out. It’s a fun tale, if you don’t care for B of A:

This was pretty up setting to me I have done business with BofA for a long time and I was pretty satisfied. But when I read this I went down to BofA and closed all of my accounts. The funny thing is when the guy asked why I was closing the accounts, I told him why, and he didn’t even try to get me to stay.
Guess who Bass Pro Shop rewards mastercard is issued thru. You got it, BofA.Guess who sells guns, you got it Bass Pro Shop. Wander if they want to drop them.
Richard, I read your comments and letter and it made my heart sing. I appreciate your gumption and wish we had more Americans that had the nerve to recall so many of our elected officials (read career politicians) that lie to us on a near daily basis and trounce upon our rights. My NRA hat is off to you.
does anyone have a list of banks that are in fact pro America & preserving the rights of the people…including the 2nd Amendment?
I have a business account with B of A – and that will be changing as soon as I can find a replacement.
I just cut my credit card in half. I can’t believe that this is happening before the election. These people are not only crazy, they are stupid to boot.
Bank of America has now put the last straw on the backs of all Vet’s and those of us that firmly believe in our second ammendment rights. I have already severed all business and personal accounts with them and will never again do any business with BofA again. Semper Fi
Don’t be too hasty in your condemnation of BofA. There could have be some financial problems with McMillan that would cause a bank to reconsider its’ line of credit with the business. I would like to see McMillan’s credit report and rating before I make any judgements against the bank. Anybody here seen The HBO movie “Too Big To Fail”? Most of the large capital banks didn’t want the TARP money and BofA was one of them. The gov’t put a lot of pressure on the banks to take the money and use it to rescue/take over the Wall St investment banks. It’s a movie I highly recommend seeing as it shows the unfolding of the financial meltdown in a way that is fairly easy to understand
McMillian will have to find another bank And so will I
Bank of Am. took $45 billion in secret from Obama as part of the bank bail out. No doubt part of our Pres. effort to take away our guns.
and yet they will deal with illegal aliens by the thousands everyday. so they just really aren’t the “Bank of Americans”
To the gentleman pushing “Too Big To Fail”: I would like to recommend that you watch the video “Money Masters” available on youtube, produced by Bill Still and one of our forum members on accurateshooter.com HenryP. It’s a historically factual film, which showed how the Federal Reserve was fraudulently placed onto the U.S. public in 1913, and is destroying our economy through methods like fractional reserve banking. Learn how portions of the Glass–Steagall Act were repealed in 1999 allowing the financial meltdowns through issuing of derivatives (bets backed by insurance) by banks like Bank of America, and through the bail-out American tax payers are now responsible for paying the bank for an undisclosed amount of toxic-assets, does that look like transparency? The film you mentioned makes B.O.A. look like the victim, I hardly think so, more like a propaganda piece. I lost my job because of Bank of America and their unwillingness to finance our customers and business during the meltdown in 2008-2009.
some one should explain to b of a how freedom
Works. It’s not accomplished with bows and arrows.
B of a can kiss my ass
Marine vet
Apparently, McMillan is still having no luck finding any bank that will lend it the money it needs to stay afloat. So, it’s not just BoA but all of the banks that worry about McMillan’s financial condition.
It’s going to be a bit tougher for me. My mortgage account got sold to B of A a few years ago. I have been planning to refinance and when I do it will not be with them. And if I can get it into my new contract I will disallow my contract to be sold back to B of A.
