Rise of the Machines — Berger Doubles Bullet-Making Capacity
Berger’s customers said “Make more bullets!”, and the company listened. Over the next few months Berger will more than double its capacity, by adding SIX new bullet-making machines, up from five at the beginning of 2013. You can do the math: 5 + 6 = 11. That means that Berger will have more than twice as many machines turning out bullets for the yellow and orange boxes. Bringing six new machines online represents a major commitment by Berger to increased production. This has been the “number one priority” for the company according to Berger ballistician Bryan Litz.
Bryan explained that Berger has already increased its output in recent months. In 2013 Berger produced 45% more bullets than in 2012. That’s a big boost. But, Bryan added, even with that 45% greater output, demand was out-stripping supply. So Berger determined the best long-term solution was to increase production capacity… and that meant acquiring new bullet-making machines. So 2014 will mark the “Rise of the Machines” at Berger, and that’s good news for fans of Berger Bullets. Within a few months you should see much greater availability of Berger bullets at gun stores and online vendors.

Does this mean they will have more lot #s of a given bullet or more machines running the same lot?
hmm, doubled production capacity! maybe we will finally see the 7mm 195gr EOL Hybrid go into production? what do y’all think?
So does that mean J4 jackets will be EVEN more harder to come by for the rest of us…?
Will that reflect on the pricing.
maybe it will mean $50 per box to pay for new machines!
Great! Now dedicate one of them to making the 7mm 195gr. EOL Hybrid!
New 7mm bullets? How about they first resume production on their existing lineup? (230gr hybrids haven’t been available since summer!
I will be able to get 6.5 140 hybrids once again!
That’s great, but when will they again supply J4 jackets to custom bullet makers? Or do they prefer to eliminate that branch of the competition?
When will they begin making powder to put under the bullets? In Mississippi Varget does not exist, bullets are’t much good with out powder!!!
Thats Great! More company’s need to realize the demand is here to stay and need to increase production or loose out to ones that do.
Y’all got yer thinkin backwards. Berger bullets are sought after because they work. The demand is through the roof and while new machines will add to the production, as long as the demand rises, no company can expect to keep up with a staggering demand. The Berger is trying their best in one aspect – that more and more of us have discovered that Berger makes a darn good bullet has grown demand and we will just have to be patient.
